Nothing gold can stay.

-Robert Frost

Nature’s first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf’s a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down today.

Nothing gold can stay.

The mist and all

-Dixie Wilson

I like the fall,

The mist and all.

I like the nights owl’s

Lonely call—

And wailing sound

Of wind around.

I like the gray

November day,

And bare, dead boughs

That coldly sway

Against my pane.

I like the rain.

I lke to sit

And laugh at it—

And tend.

I like the fall

My cozy fire a bit— The mist and all—

Melancholia

Ellis nightingale

How many sunrises would you trade

For everything to be alright?

The wind is tearing at your skin.

So, plant your feet and hold on tight

To all the things that made you laugh,

When heartbeats didn’t hurt,

And all the times you pulled yourself

Up from the dark and the dirt.

There is no such thing as endless pain;

No sacrifices to be made.

The wind will cease and you will rest

And you will find your way again.
