Mental Health – Emotional Wellbeing


Our free, professional and confidential
counselling service is available to all students
College comes with more independence and therefore more
responsibility. Sometimes life in general can be difficult.
Need to talk? We are here for you.

*Limits to confidentiality due to safeguarding will be explained to you fully at the


first appointment
We will offer you a block of 6 sessions (more if needed)
working 1:1 with a counsellor

Weekly sessions last for 50 minutes

The Counselling rooms are in quiet areas on each campus

Counsellors are kind and non-judgmental so you can talk


openly and safely about anything that is troubling you
Why do people ask for help?
Our North Kent College and Hadlow College counsellors can help with a wide range of
difficulties. Some of the common issues students bring to counselling are:

Anxiety / Depression
Bereavement
Sexual Identity
Relationship support
College stress
Life changes
Suicidal feelings
Self-esteem and confidence
Eating disorders
Family or friendship problems

We offer a range of talking therapy, workshops,
group sessions and resources including help with:
Sleep difficulties
Time and stress management
Building emotional resilience
Creating a wellbeing plan
Safety planning

Contact us on Teams or Outlook – or ask your Tutor to refer you


Student Services:

Our Student Welfare and Safeguarding colleagues are also


available to help you

Residential Support Officers offer emotional and practical


assistance to students living at Hadlow campus

We can find specialist external support for you if needed
