Task 1: Prioritize the top 3 family nursing problems from the scenario above with justification.

Score each diagnosis using Scale for ranking family nursing problems based on prioritization from Factors that affect
modifiability of the health problem, Factors that affect preventive potential. Rank the same after the computation of respective scores. (Show your computations)

A proper balanced diet and adequate food intake are very important for a healthy
pregnancy. In the given situation, it was explained that Mrs. Rebecca Villianueva was
already 6 months pregnant and underweight due to limiting her food intake because if the
baby grew bigger a cesarean section may be needed which will cost them financially. This
Improper Balanced Diet (Inadequate Risk for Imbalanced Nutrition due may lead the client to being malnourished and have issues in developmenting the baby in

Nutrition Intake) to insufficient food intake
This problem is related to risk for imbalanced nutrition due to insufficient food intake. It
ranked 1st because since they are in a stage of becoming a parent the family should
prioritize the health of both the mother and the child to prevent any irregularities in the
baby's development.

It is discussed in the case scenario that Mrs. Rebecca Villanueva who is a first time mom
never had a prenatal consultation and stated that the information from her neighbors and
relatives are confusing and conflicting which means she only had limited and insufficient
knowledge about child development health maintenance and parenting skills resulting in
increased insufficient or lacking in social support and parental role models which is
important because if Mrs. Villanueva had one, she could have learned from their

impaired Parenting (653-659) relatives which may lead to wrong information and hazard to her pregnancy. It is also stated
that they are renting a small house with mixed materials which can lead to risk in pregnancy
like infections. It just shows that they failed to provide a safe home and environment for the
child and to the mother itself. This family problem was ranked 2 because we believe that
this is a problem but, it's just one of the priorities of a family that must be addressed
because it only concerns the pregnant woman's surroundings or environment and does not
put her health at high risk.

Stated in the case scenario that Rebecca Villanueva would probably have a home delivery
under the care of the local “hilot” because professional attendance would be too expensive
for them. Lack of use of community resources is a failure to properly understand the
advantages of health care services. This certain problem can be classified as Deficient

prompt action is not necessary considering the fact that establishing community resources
and health care services requires a well structured plan that can benefit health, education
and financial stability of the community. A practical and realistic plan will provide time and
accurate process.
Task 2: Focus on the Family Nursing Diagnosis ranked number one. Create a Family Health Care Plan using the matrix suggested below.
