TASK 2

In this modern era, some nations permit older people to work at any age they want. While there
are both advantages and disadvantages with this topic, the positive aspects take precedence over
the drawbacks.

On the one hand, the lack of job opportunities for young people can be easily seen in this
situation. Obviously, It is becoming increasingly difficult for young people to apply for jobs, and
it is difficult to compete with elderly, formidable opponents who have the advantage of extensive
experience and a professional career. As a result, young people have a difficult time finding
work, which leads to high unemployment and crime rates. In addition, health problems caused by
old age limit their flexibility and ability to be as productive as before, reducing their productivity
at work. For example, jobs that require physical and meticulous care, such as accounting and
planning, may not be completed by the elderly.
On the other hand, from my perspective, allowing older people to continue working after
retirement has additional benefits, including reducing the burden on the national budget and
improving the mental health of the elderly. Firstly, when the elderly are able to work as long as
they want, they will have a steady source of income to support their own lives without the
financial support of their children, other family members, or social allowance. As a result, the
financial burden on the family and the national budget will be reduced. Second, some senior
employers feel depressed when they retire, and they still want to work hard and keep their
employment longer so they may continue working with their own passion, which eliminates the
elderly's psychological problems.

In conclusion, although senior workers are permitted to continue to work, there can be a lack of
job opportunities and less work productivity. I believe that positives include reducing the
financial burden and improving mental health.
