THE DIFFICULTIES FACED BY MARITIME STUDENTS AT JCFC FOR THE

ACADEMIC YEAR 2022-2023

REVIEW OF LITERATURE ND STUDIES

Students go through a variety of emotions as they depart for their foreign studies.

It is crucial that parents cannot comprehend what their child is experiencing. More so,

being kind and encouraging to their child throughout as they embrace the new culture of

being an international student. In addition, any foreign country tourist specifically foreign

students must deal with social adjustments and cultural variances. According to (Sicat,

2011) adjustment is defined as a continuous process that one must go through in another

situation. The most common challenge in the adjustment of foreign students attending

LIMA is the social, cultural, and linguistic adjustment. Students' internal and external

social interactions with teachers and peers are involved outside of the classroom where

education and learning are taking place.

Facilities and physical plants are important factors to consider when honing the

students to operate necessary machinery and equipment in their own areas of expertise.

Building these as prerequisites for utilizing the study program by the students is essential

for enhancing their Positivity and expertise (Dotong, 2014). As stated by (Bay, An &

Laguador, 2014) employee and customer satisfaction are crucial to achieving, it is an

important component of success for any business or industry inside the economy. Hence,
the student satisfaction surveys can be used to several academic institutions, to aid in

their consideration their assets and pinpoint the areas that require improvement. Higher

Education in the Philippines (HE) pupils were regarded as the primary even before they

became "clients" of a university capable of.

As the Covid-19 widespread around the world, modern technology and digital

English learning are the ideal mix in students’ academic performances. Moreover, when

everyone around the world is unable to go outside throughout their daily lives in the same

manner as learning activities everywhere, a teacher is also unable to interact with their

pupils in face-to-face learning activities in real life. Even if some individuals throughout

the world struggle to have an online classroom due to socio-economic issues, health is

still the priority to secure and maintain.

This research is conducted to make an effort to look at the issue with the marine

transportation students on how well they academically perform inside of the classroom

during the new normal. The study applies a descriptive research design using 150 pupils

who were chosen. Hence, it reveals that the kids reported having some relatively

substantial issues with their academic performance and self-care. Whereas family,

relationships with others, and health are less important On the other hand, health issues

have a minimal likelihood of occurring according to research and self-concerns. Students

in the maritime industry need to understand how important their work is in reaching goals

and helping students achieve the university's goal and their future careers as mariners to

help them build a constructive attitude.
