 Objective

To recognize the impact of inclusive school and culture in the

transformation and evolution of the educational contexts
 Introducción
Inclusive schools have been part of our society for many
years. Teachers must know that working in the educational
field requires learning techniques that allow the classroom to
work collaboratively by respecting the different abilities that
each student could have.
Inclusive schools
Yet, children with disabilities are often overlooked
in policymaking, limiting their access to education
and their ability to participate in social, economic,
and political life. Worldwide, these children are
among the most likely to be out of school. They
face persistent barriers to education stemming
from discrimination, stigma, and the routine failure
of decision-makers to incorporate disability

Inclusive Schools

Inclusive schools are more popular in developed

countries. (Canada, Switzerland, Finland)

Inclusive education means all children in the same

classrooms, in the same schools. It means real
learning opportunities for groups who have
traditionally been excluded – not only children
with disabilities but speakers of minority
languages too.

What are the basic elements of inclusive education?

Use of teaching These staff have the potential to be inclusive or divisive. For
instance, a specialist who helps teachers address the needs of all
assistants or
students is working inclusively. A specialist who pulls students out
specialists of class to work with them individually on a regular basis is not.

An inclusive curriculum includes locally relevant themes and

contributions by marginalized and minority groups. It avoids
Inclusive curriculum binary narratives of good and bad, and allows adapting the
curriculum to the learning styles of children with special
education needs

Most schools strive for some level of parental involvement, but it

is often limited to emails home and occasional parent–teacher
Inclusive curriculum conferences. In a diverse school system, inclusion means thinking
about multiple ways to reach out to parents on their own terms.

 Inclusive culture

The purpose of an Inclusive School Culture is

to motivate school communities to promote,
create, and sustain inclusive environments.
It is designed to help all stakeholders
including students, educators, parents and
guardians, support staff and administrators
feel they belong to and fully participate in
the life of the school.

curriculum’, defines school culture as “the
collective norms, attitudes, ideals, and
behaviors that characterize a school and
are demonstrated by school leadership,
teachers, students, and the larger
community.”2 In an inclusive school,
every student regardless of ability and
background is included in every aspect of
school life – in general, education classes
and in school events, activities, and
