LEARNING ACTIVITY 1

South East Asia Medical School should consider strategic business analysis. Business
analysis tools and approaches can assist higher education executives in planning strategically and
intelligently to ensure business agility and continuity in an ever-changing environment.
In this scenario, the institution is expected to make a substantial long-term choice. With
the potential increase in enrollment, the school may consider developing new facilities, hiring
extra teaching individuals and staff, managing risks, investing in new technology, raising tuition,
and making some changes to the school's policies to conform to the new normal.
Strategic business analysis will assist the management of the school in investigating
various potential adjustments, methodologies, and advances in corporate and long-term views. A
business analyst can analyze what the academic institution does and can do in the operational
context to generate use cases to help the school reach its learning objectives. Given a large
number of current and potential stakeholders, it is critical to understand their needs and ask the
proper questions to assist decision-makers in developing an effective crisis response.
Using strategic business analysis, management can better understand the challenge they
are about to face, potential solutions and options for the problem, the internal and external
environment, and, most importantly, the resources and time required for each development
before making a final decision. This will also assist the school in meeting the demands of the
students and the institution's aims halfway without sacrificing educational quality or harming
stakeholders' interests.
