How to calculate the weight of flat bars in g/cm³?

The Volume of the MS square bar is calculated by the
formula,

Volume(v) = Side(A) x Side(B)/thickness x Length(l)

Volume = 50mm x 25mm x (1m/1000) = 1.25mm3

Density of steel = 7.85 g/cm3

Weight of the square bar = Volume x density = 1.25 x 7.85

= 9.8125 kg

How to calculate the weight of flat bars in lbs/in³?

Given data

Side (W) = width = depth = 12 inch

Thickness (t)= 2 inch

Length = 1m

The Volume of the MS square bar is calculated by the

formula,

Volume(v) = Side(A) x Side(B)/thickness x Length(l)

In this formula,
To convert 1meter to inch. multiply the length value by
39.37

Volume =2” x 12” x (1m x 39.37) = 944.88/in³

Density of steel = 7.85 g/cm3/27.68 = 0.2835

Weight of the square bar = Volume x density = 944.88 x

0.2835 = 267.873 lbs
