Preparation 1. Drill:
5 minutes Let the pupils read the number in a flashcard and give the place value of a digit.
Ex. 34 567 (four) 8 674 (eight) 78 603 (six)

2. Review:
Conduct a review on comparing numbers.
Give exercises on this.

3. Motivation:
Call 15 pupils to stand in front of the class and let them arrange themselves from shortest to tallest.
Ask: What did they notice about their arrangement? How did they arrange themselves?
Presentation
20 minutes 1. Present numbers written in the clothes hang in the clothesline and ask how are the numbers
arranged?

2. Give pupils’ activity and let them perform by working in groups. (Group them into four).
Distribute four numbers written in the flashcards to each group and let them form the number in
increasing order. The group that finish first, won.

3. Process the activity


Ask:
●How did you find the activity?
●Did you cooperatively work with your group?
●How did you arrange the numbers in increasing order?

4. Lead the pupils to generalize the lesson by asking this questions:

seedlings, and 14 670 Narra seedlings. Arrange the number of seedlings in increasing order.
