Online shopping or E-Commerce is widely known as an online platform to buy and sell items.
Online shopping has seen a steep rise here in the Philippines, according to the Department of
Trade and Industry (DTI) in Philippines, the number of online sellers increased from 1,700 in
March 2020 to 93,318 in January 2021, due to consumers choosing to shop online to avoid the
risks of going out during the pandemic. The rise of online shopping in the country had brought
with it the different impacts on the online purchase behaviors of its consumers.

DANIEL:
According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight, 41 percent of the respondents stated they
purchased more online during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines as of May 2020. With
these in mind, the researchers will be focusing on knowing the relationship between the
developing addiction to online shopping of consumers and the Covid-19 Pandemic.
