Brushed Crochet

Brushed Crochet
What you need:
A good quality pet slicker brush – That’s it!
Top Tips
First crochet an item as normal, following these top tips.

         Make sure you brush your crochet before you add eyes, noses, and other features, it is
almost impossible to brush around them.
         A pet slicker
         When working with fuzzy wool smooth it down with your fingers as you use it and
you will find you can use it like any other wool, it will fluff up again during brushing.
         Always brush in short, sharp brushes in a many different directions to get the best
effect.
         Use metal crochet hooks – gives you more leverage.
         Crochet tight otherwise you can pull your item apart.
Step by Step
Follow the photo examples below
Step 1: Crochet your item – It is best to brush while everything is still in parts and before
details are added. If you need to add eyes early on in the process, brush the patch where they
are going when you need to add them, then finish the rest of the brushing later.
Step 2: Use a pet slicker brush to brush the item with short, sharp brushes, in many directions,
continue until you have the fluffiness you desire.
Step 3: To make the best of a fluffy item trim it to look like the animal - cut into the fur rather
than in straight lines for the best effect.
