1. First check that the UPS have a SNMP card installed in the back.

2. Connect your PC directly the UPS SNMP card Network port.

3. On the UPS press the enter button to go to the Main Menu and select the Settings

4. Enter the password 000001:

5. select the Communication Card, make the IP allocation to manual and set the IP to the same subnet as the VM
from the vlan 100 with an an ip of 8.
E.g. If your site VM subnet is x.x.x.0/25 then your UPS SNMP IP will be x.x.x.8/25
6. change your computer IP to the same subnet as the UPS IP

7. Open the Internet Explorer and open https://x.x.x.8 the UPS IP address in the browser. Enter the Username: admin
and Password: Changeme

8. open the Config tab and go the SNMP tab

9. Change the SNMP version to the SNMPv3 and the SNMP port to 161. Also click the Add button on the
authentication and privacy protocol setting part.
10. Add on the user Name: admin
Authentication protocol: SHA
PASSWORD: Huawei123 repeat for the confirmation
Privacy Protocol: Admin123 repeat for the confirmation

11. On the NMS address

and Permission Setting the VDI(CNA) and the
Media(Centos) IP address of the site.
12. Add SNMP
trap for
both

media(Centos) and VDI(CNA) servers with a trap port of 163.

13. After Finishing Configuring the SNMP protocol connect the UPS to the Core Switch Port 48 and configure as follow:

14. Connect your PC either to the Wifi or to Node in the Computer Room where you can access the Media and VDI
platform.
15. SSH to the VDI(CNA) system first using Xshell or Putty with the IP of x.x.x.10 .
Username: gandalf Password: Huawei@CLOUD8

16. SU to the root user with the Password: Huawei@123 and make the Time Out of the system 0.

17. Login to the Root directory and create a folder called Shutdown. And give permission to the file to be accessed:
chmod 777 Shutdown
18. Upload the file named NetShutdownV100R002C00SPC220B001_Suse_x64.zip using either the xftp that the xshell
have or the FileZilla software in the Shutdown folder in the root directory.
19. Extract the file uploaded using the unzip command:

20. From the extracted files give execution right to the install.sh file:
21. Run the following command to install netshutdown: ./install.sh

22. press enter when it requests for the netshutdown installation folder so it uses the default folder and also press
enter to use default since there is NetCo.

23. press y to complete the installation:

24. the system will show installation completion message when it finished.

25. Start the netshutdown service using the following command and ping the UPS IP to make sure there is a
communication between the systems.
26. Enter the following commad to get the hostname fo the system and add to the host list:

27. Check wether the hostname and ip is add to the host lists correctly using the following commad:

configuration and press 1:

29. enter the IP address of the UPS system:

30. enter 2 to select the protocol version of SNMPv3:

31. enter admin for the username request:

32. enter Huawei123 for the authentication password request:

33. enter 1 for the authentication algorithm SHA:

34. enter Admin123 for the private key password request:

35. enter 1 for the private key algorithm AES:

36. Wait for the system to find the UPS:

37. Enter 1 to add the UPS to the system:

38. Enter 3 to select the shutdown policy:

39. Enter 1 to setup a shutdown policy for the battery mode:

40. To enable script and shutdown plan enter 4 and 5 continuously:

41. Open another SSH terminal to the VDI(CNA) system and change the file permission for the opt, opt/Netshutdown
and opt/Netshutdown/CustomScript folders:

42. Open sftp or FileZilla and transfer the file script.sh:

43. Continue to the previous SSH terminal for the netshutdown config and enter 8:
44. Enter the file uploaded script.sh:

45. Enter number 7 to add shutdown setting delay time:

46. Select 1 to add shutdown delay:

47. Set the time 300 sec:

48. Enter q to return to the main menu:

49. Enter number 6 to add a script delay time:

50. Enter 299 sec for the script delay time:

51. Switch of the main breaker for the UPS AC input and wait for 5 min for the script to take effect.
52. Enter into the VDI platform IBMC system using the KVM to check the system is shutting down.
53. For the Media platform please repeat the following expect when uploading the file
NetShutdownV100R002C00SPC220B001_Centos_x64.zip file.
