What makes Baby Boomers more productive and satisfied on the job?

Baby boomers are driving individuals focused on exceeding their capabilities in order to climb
up the corporate ladder. Baby boomers stay longer in a corporation than Millennials thus making
it easier for them to be promoted, but they're not as loyal as traditionalists. Baby boomers tend to
change employers more often. Baby boomers are not a technology-driven generation, they
restrict themselves to the usage of social media and cellphones in the work environment. Baby
boomers are a type of generation that likes to use emails as their means of contact.

What makes Millennial more productive and satisfied? How are they similar?

Millennials are the driving force of today's workplace, Millennials are driven by their sense of
purpose that they can do more for the customer. Millennial mostly use interaction, collaboration,
and feedback to help them learn and grow. By implementing these three components, Millennials
gather more information than Gen X, and are able to provide what the customers want and need.
Millennials use text, socials instant messages as their preferred form of communication.

What motivates and makes Gen X more productive and satisfied? Why?

Generation X has been evolving to the point that they are replacing baby boomers in managerial
positions. Gen X is a more independent generation than Baby boomers, they value authority less,
meaning they give less value to climbing up the corporate ladder. Gen X is the type of generation
that embraces technology in the workplace such as laptops, tablets, cell phones, video
conferences. In order to be more flexible, Gen X can use technology to connect with their peers
for group meetings and projects, but this generation is more likely to walk away from inflexible
workplaces

How is Gen Z different?

Generation Z is the rookie in the workplace. This generation is different because they are
constructed from different cultures and ethnicity. Gen Z is made of independent individuals that
are competitive, and highly energetic. Gen Z Seeks workplaces that highly use technology, but
can also interact face to face with other individuals regarding if it is personal interaction or a
video meeting.

What are companies doing currently and what should they be doing to increase employee
satisfaction with the different generations?

Companies are keeping in concentration that values tend to vary across generations. There is
concrete evidence that each generation had to undergo a rough patch in their life span, and
childhood events had influenced each generation with a different perspective on how they value
their life and work environment. Keeping this in mind I came up with an option on how
companies can increase employee satisfaction between these generations.

The company can make a job environment compiled with each generation so that each person in
each generation can learn for the other.

Although this action may backfire, the older generation might be a bad influence on the younger
generations and this may cause a whole group of unsatisfied employees into the work
environment. So by hand-selecting the generation leaders of each generation the company can
limit the dissatisfied drama in the workplace. After the generations had gained knowledge from
each generation. The generation leaders will go back to their generation group, meaning all Gen
X would be together and all the Millennials will be together, etc. Those leaders will be entrusted
with teaching the new generation about all the knowledge they absorb from the older
generations. Once the generation leader's time has come to leave the workplace he/she needs to
find a successor to take his place, of course, the company needs to evaluate the successor to see
if he or she is fit for the job.
