his baby twins ‘Vina and Vino’ pattern is created by Melani, and as such
cannot be copied, modified, selling or reproduced in any way. You are
welcome to create and sell as many of your finished items, please just give

TOOLS & MATERIALS

• Colorful yarn (you can choose your desired color) This pattern used pink, blue, white,
black, brown yarn.
• Hook. Adjust to yarn.
• Fiberfill, tapestry needle.
• Small buttons (for boy’s clothes).

This pattern using 3 ply wool yarn and it produced 18 cm (7 inches) tall dolls.

Using clothes color

R1. CH 6. Starting in 2nd chain from hook 4 sc, in the end fill 3 sc in one hole. Continue on the
other side of the chain: 3 sc, inc (12)

R2. Inc, 3 sc, (inc) x 3, 3 sc, (inc) x 2 (18)

R3. Sc BLO around (18)

R4. 6 sc, (dec) x 3, 6 sc (15)

R5. 5 sc, dec, 1 sc, dec, 5 sc (13)

Fasten off leg 1, do not fasten off leg 2, immediately follow with:

R13. 4 sc in leg 2, then join with leg 1. Insert 1 sc in leg 1 (in the beginning of row 13).

Attach pom-pom on the top and glue it.

R8. CH 2 (1 FPDC, 1 BPDC, 1 FPDC, 1 BPDC,

decrease 1 BPDC & 1 FPDC, 1 BPDC, 1 FPDC, 1 BPDC,

decrease 1 FPDC & 1 BPDC) repeat 5 times (40)

R9. CH 2 (1 FPDC, 1 BPDC, dec FPDC, 1 BPDC,

1 FPDC, dec FPDC) x 5 (30)

R10. CH 2 (1 FPDC, Dec FPDC, 1 BPDC,

dec FPDC) x 5 (20) Attach pom-pom on the top and glue it.

For decreasing, count 3 stitches then dec.
Stitches can follow, because it can start at
FPDC or BPDC. For dec better with FPDC to
gives prominent effect. 6
HAIR (BOY/VINO)

Cut several strands of thread/yarn, then tie and knot in the top middle of the head.

HAIR (GIRL/VINA)

Embroidery with tapestry needle and black yarn starting from MR starting hole when you
make head (see pictures below).

PACIFIER

R1. MR, CH 1 fill 8 DC. Join slipstitch. FO.

White colored ring, CH 6, then tie and knot in the back of the pacifier. Sew to the mouth.

WHITE DECORATION IN THE MIDDLE OF SHIRT

CH 6. Starting in the 2nd chain from hook, 5 sc. FO. Sew in the middle of shirt. Attach
buttons if you want.

For baby girl (Vina), white decoration can be cross stitched.

DOLL ASSEMBLY

1. Attach head and body. Sew.

2. Attach arm to body and sew.

• Make nose in the center of row 8, pink yarn.

apart from nose and do 2 stitches upwards.
• Sew ears in row 1.
• Sew arms and legs.

BEAR DOLL ASSEMBLY

• Sew nose with black yarn in muzzle front,

and eyes above muzzle.
• Sew ears in row 2-4.
• Sew arms and legs.

Make 9 (white 4 pieces, blue 5 pieces)

R1. 3 CH in magic ring, 2 DC, (3 CH, 3 DC) x 3, 3 CH. Join slst.

R2. 3 CH, 4 DC, (3 CH, 7 DC) x 3, 3 CH. Slst. FO.

Put together pieces of granny square with slst.

Sc granny square edges with white yarn.

GRANNY SQUARE (GIRL/VINA)

R1. 3 CH in magic ring, 2 DC, (3 CH, 3 DC) x 3, 1 DC, Join with CH 1.

R2. (CH 3, 2 DC, CH 3, 3 DC) in the end of the chain, (CH 3. 3 DC, CH 3, 3 DC) x 3 in the end
of the chain, 1 DC, join with initial CH 1.

R3. CH 3, 2 DC in middle chain.

(CH 3, 3 DC, CH 3, 3 DC) in the end of the chain

(CH 3, 3 DC) in middle chain Repeat 3 times

(CH 3, 3 DC, CH 3, 3 DC) in the end of the chain

1 DC, join with initial CH and so on till 6 rows.

Each rows (CH 3, 3 DC) x 9 in middle chain increased.

Sc in around granny’s edges.

You can change colors after R3 and do it alternately after each row.
