Chubby Bud Green Crochet Pattern

Pattern Details
Size:
The finished chick stands approx 8cm, 3.2 inches tall.(excluding hair
band decoration) The thinner yarns you use, the smaller the doll will be.

Skill Level Needed:


Intermediate- suitable for crocheters of medium level, requires patience,
precision and basic crochet skills when assembling the doll.

Materials Needed:
⚫ Yarn A (1 ball) --- Edelweiss ⚫ Toy stuffing (50 grams)
yarn #2, bud green #22 ⚫ Scissors
⚫ Yarn B (10 grams) --- ⚫ Yarn needle
Edelweiss yarn #2, white #01 ⚫ Stitch marker
⚫ Yarn C (5 grams) --- Edelweiss ⚫ Alcohol glue
yarn #2, orange #32 ⚫ 2.0 mm crochet hook
⚫ Yarn D (5 grams) --- 4-ply milk ⚫ Two 12mm eyes with green
cotton, bright yellow #12 edges
⚫ Yarn E (5 grams) --- 4-ply milk ⚫ Four 4mm black flat eyes
cotton, yellowish brown #30

Abbreviations(American term)
ch = chain tr = triple crochet stitch
dec = decrease: work 2 sc dc = double crochet stitch
together hdc = half double crochet
inc = increase: work 2 sc in same BLO = back loops only
st FLO = front loops only
st(s) = stitch(es) sl= slip stitch
sc = single crochet stitch pop = popcorn stitch (5 dc)
Notes:
⚫ In the loop hook part of the single crochet, link the head and the end
of each round with the slip stitch, and start each round with a chain
unless stated otherwise(joined rounds).
⚫ Remember the starting position of the first stitch with a mark button or
thread head in the process of hooking for counting as Edelweiss yarn
#2 is relatively dense.
⚫ Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.
⚫ All stitches are worked in both loops unless stated otherwise in the
pattern
⚫ The beginning and end of the thread can be hidden in stitches or
stuffing, You can also knot the thread as long as it does not affect the
appearance
⚫ Except for the parts where the stitching position is especially
emphasized, please stitch the other parts at the place you think is
suitable.

Note: The position of sl in each round is the center of the wrong side of
the main body, and the other side

Wing x 2
Use yarn A

Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring = 6
Round 2: (sc, inc) x 3 = 9
Round 3: 9 sc = 9
Round 4: (sc, inc, sc) x 3 = 12
Round 5: 12 sc = 12
Slip stitch to finish and leave a 20cm tail for sewing.
No need to stuff.
After flattening the openings of the two wings, sew them at the gap
between rows 22 and 23 of the main body, symmetrically on both sides
of the body.
From the right side of the main body, the lateral distance between the
nearest ends of two wings is 27 sts.

The whites of eyes


Use yarn B
Need skill: joined rounds
Round 1: 8 sc in a magic ring = 8
Round 2: 8 inc = 16
Round 3: (sc, inc) x 8 =24
Round 4: (sc, inc) x 12 =36
Round 5-6: 36 sc = 36
Fasten off and leave a 30cm tail for sewing.
Sew the whites of eyes to the right side of the main body between rows
12 and 23, and stuff them while sewing (you can fix the position with a
bead needle).
The lateral distance between the nearest ends of white eyes is 1 st, and
each white of eye with a gap of 12 sts lateral distance.
Use the tip of the needle to smear a circle of glue on the periphery of the
whites of eyes, use yarn E to paste around the periphery of the whites of
eyes and hide the end inside the main body.
Then use the same color yarn to sew 3 lines between rows 11 and 13
above the outside of the whites of eyes as eyelashes, and each line in 2
sts to 3 sts long.

Mouth
Use yarn C
Need skill: joined rounds
Round 1: 4 ch, sc in second chain from hook, dc, sc, 1 ch, sl in the first
ch, sc, 1 ch, sc, sl in the third ch.
Fasten off and leave a 20cm tail for sewing.
Sew the mouth between rows 19 to 20 of the main body and between
the two whites of eyes.
Claw x 2
Use yarn C
Need skill: joined rounds
Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring = 6
Round 2-3: 6 sc = 6
Round 4: sc, pop, 2 sc, pop, sc = 6
Round 5-6: 6 sc = 6
Fasten off and leave a 20cm tail for sewing.
No need to stuff.
The two claws are respectively sewn between rows 32 and 36 of the
main body and symmetrically on both sides of the bottom of the main
body.
Hair band
Use yarn B
Round 1: 52 ch, sc in second chain from hook, (1 ch, skip 1 ch, sc, 1 ch)
repeat to the beginning position

Fasten off and leave 15 cm tail for sewing.


Note: Place the right side of hair band outwards, the middle of it on the
overhead of the main body and sew both ends of it on the top and
outside of the wings respectively.
Antennae x 2
Use yarn D Round 6: 6 dec = 6

Sew the two antennae adjacent to each other at the hair band position of
3-8 rows on the right side of the head of the main body.
Bee

Bag

Round 3: (sc, inc) x 6 = 18
Hook two pieces, back to back, the right sides to outside.
Use yarn E, hook a round of slip stitches (18 slip stitches) on the two
pieces of round 3 meanwhile.
Fasten off and leave a 30 cm tail for sewing the strap of the bag. (Sew
one end of the strap above the left wing, and sew the other end under
the right wing.)
