Yarn Alize Cotton Gold (55% cotton / 45% acrylic; 100g / 330m)
DK weight yarn - Yarn Art Jeans (55% cotton/45% acrylic; 50 g/160 m)

 Yarn Art Jeans No. 83 (powder) – a mug


 Alize Cotton Gold No. 62, 393 (white, light pink) – a cat, a bunny, a mug
 Yarn Art Jeans No. 42, 90 (raspberry, red) – a heart
 2.0 mm or 2.25 crochet hook
 Stuffing material (fiberfill/polyester)
 Tapestry needle
 Scissors

 Two cardboard circles for the bottom of a mug, about 4.5*4.5 cm (1.8 * 1.8
inches)
 Black thread for embroidery of eyes and nose

NOTE! Yarn consumption, size, and appearance of the toy depend on


crochet density and how you hold the yarn.
The presented toy is crocheted with V and X look single crochet:
(First, you grab yarn over the hook, and for making the second stitch -
grab it under the hook).
The finished toys using the materials stated in this pattern are ~5.5
inches/14 cm in height without ears.
Make sure you crochet tight enough, otherwise, the stuffing will show
through the holes.
Crochet the toy in spirals without turning chains.
The cat mug is crocheted with YarnArt jeans yarn.
The bunny mug is crocheted with Alize cotton gold yarn.
For an illustration purpose of the mug’s size.
Choose any shade or yarn brand as desired.

PAWS (make 2)
(PAWS ARE SUITABLE FOR BOTH A CAT and A BUNNY)
Alize Cotton Gold No. 62 (white)

Rnd 1: 6 into MR
Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
Rnds 3-14: 12 sc (12 rounds)

Do not stuff the part.


Make three stitches on the tips of the paws with black thread.
Flatten together and crochet 5 sc
through both loops across.
Break yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

CAT’S EARS (make 2)


Alize Cotton Gold № 62 (white)

Rnd 1: 6 into MR
Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
Rnds 3-4: 12 sc (2 rounds)
Rnd 5: (1 sc, inc)*6 (18)
Rnds 6-7: 18 sc (2 rounds)
Rnd 8: (2 sc, inc)*6 (24)
Rnds 9-10: 24 sc (2 rounds)

Do not stuff the part. Flatten together and crochet 11 sc through both
loops across. Break yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

BUNNY’S EARS (make 2)
(One ear consists of two parts – white and pink)

Two pink parts – YARN YarnArt jeans No. 20 (pink)


Two white parts – YARN Alize Cotton Gold No. 62 (white)

Work in back and forth rows. Chain 9 and crochet in the opposite direction:
Rows 1-12: 8 sc, chain 1, turn (12 rows)
Row 13: 8 sc, turn
Row 14: 7 sc, turn
Row 15: 6 sc, turn
Row 16: 5 sc, turn
Row 17: 4 sc, turn
Row 18: 3 sc, turn
Row 19: 2 sc, turn
Row 20: 1 sc, turn
Break yarn on the pink parts. DO NOT break yarn on the white parts.
Join two parts crocheting 45 sc, 1 sl st through both loops.

Break yarn, leaving a long tail. Draw the yarn tail to the bottom of the ear
using a tapestry needle. Sew the bottom part of the ear.

ASSEMBLY
1. Embroider the hearts (V-shapes) with a white thread randomly.

2. Embroider the nose and eyes.

NOSE:
Mark the position of the nose and eyes using sewing pins. Embroider them
with black thread.
The height of the nose is 8 sc, and the width is 4 sc. The upper part of the
nose is in round 17 from the mug, and the bottom part is in round 10.

EYES:
Mark the position of the eyes using sewing pins.
(My option: 18-19 rounds from the top of the mug. The distance between
the eyes is 8 sc. The length is 5 sc, and the height is 1 sc).

3. Embroider the blush.


Embroider the blush using pink thread.

4. Sew the paws to the body, as guided in the photo.

Position the paw on the toy and fasten it.

5. Tighten the hole.
Stuff with fiberfill. Tighten the hole, weaving through each of the 12 front
loops of the last round, and pull tight.

Once you weaved through 12 loops, weave through 2-3 loops at once with a
tapestry needle. Do not forget to tighten. Repeat 3 times. Cut the excess yarn
and hide the yarn tail inside the toy.

6. Sew the ears to the cat and bunny.
The ears of the cat and bunny are in the third round from the tightened
hole.

Sew the ears to the bunny.

MUG HANDLE
Yarn Art Jeans No. 83 (powder)
Chain 9 and form a circle. Crochet around:
Rnd 1: 9 sc (22 rounds), 2 sl st

Sew the handle to the mug.

HEART
Yarn Art Jeans No. 42 - (raspberry)

Make 2:
Rnd 1: 6 into MR
Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
Rnds 3-4: 12 sc (2 rounds), 1 sl st
Break yarn.
Leave the working yarn on the second part. Join the parts and crochet
through both loops in a circle.
Rnd 5: 1 sc in slip stitch of the first part, 12 sc, 1 sc in the stitch which you
crocheted in slip stitch, 12 sc (26)

Sew the heart to the cat’s paw.

BOW
Yarn Art Jeans No. 20 - (pink)
Chain 4, start working in the first chain from hook – 5 tr, chain 4, 1 sl st.
Crochet the other half of the bow similarly.
Chain 4, crochet in the same chain – 5 tr, chain 4, 1 sl st, chain 1.

Break yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Wrap a piece of yarn around the center of the bow 4-5 times. Weave in ends.
Sew the bow to the cat using the yarn tail.
