Basic part (graphic scheme)

Basic part (notes):

1. Graphic scheme of basic part includes notes on color changing.

2. Make ch 1 to finish each row, these stitches are not included in
the scheme.
3. Start working: ch 46 and then from the 2nd stitch from hook
crochet the 1st row.
4. It may help to crochet “traditional” single crochet to keep the
shape of the stitch I make.
5. I recommend you to hide yarn tails inside the work; do not tie
them on the wrong side. The work will look neat.
6. When you have finished the work, do not fasten off the last loop.
You will install upper wooden stick.
7. When you work around the Giraffe it is better to use separate
yarn tails. E.g: crochet the first 11 sc in the 1st round using 1 ball,
then change yarn to pumpkin color and crochet last 24 sc of basic
part using separate yarn ball. The wrong side will look beautiful in
this case and you do not need to have a lot of excess material to
make long bars between the stitches.
8. We crochet each spot on a neck using separate yarn folded in
two (4 pieces). This means, you should join the brown color yarn
four times.
9. After you have crocheted the 19th row, cut the "pumpkin" yarn.
Join it again in the 36th row.

10. How to change yarn color on the front side:

11. How to change yarn color on the wrong side:

Please note: when you change yarn on the wrong side yarn of the
previous color is in front of the work.

Glue the half beads to felt circles to get the eyes.

Glue the nostrils at the 30th and 31st row-level (count from the

17
Fasten the ears and horns with dental floss or any other thread of the
same color as cloth.

48th round

18
Using the threads of green shades, embroider bundles of grass on either
side of the giraffe mouth as shown in the photo below.
Sew or flu the flowers and a leaflet.
Decorate the eyebrows using folded in two brown color yarn.

19
Install upper wooden stick

After the cloth is crocheted do not cut the yarn and do not tink the last
loop but pull the stick through it as shown in the photo.
Throw the threads over the stick and pull them out with the hook
from the wrong side to the front side, forming a loop.
Capture the working threads one more time and pull them into the
loop again.
It turns out that we crochet single crochets, but only around the stick.
We continue crocheting to the end of the row.

20
When the entire row is crocheted to the end, we do not cut the thread,
but continue to crochet a chain from chain stitches.

My chain is from 55 chain stitches. Depending on your desire, you can

vary its length up or down.

Put out the yarn from the last chain stitch and fasten it on the other
side of the stick, hide the end inside the cloth.

21
I use Alize Cotton gold 83 (pumpkin) for a tassel and 62 (milk), and
also wooden beads 18-20 mm in diameter.
You will need 30 pieces of yarn for one tassel, the length of a piece is
35 cm.
You can watch a video tutorial about tassel making, just press the
camera button.
Fasten the ready tassels to the lower edge of the cloth, hide and cut the
threads.
