DREAMER

CROCHET TOY PATTERN

09

DESIGNER: EVGENIYA DUNAEVA

(@DUNAEVA.TOYS)
Hello, dear friend!
Welcome to the magic amigurumi world!
Make yourself comfortable in your cosy armchair,
take your favourite crochet hook and let’s make
some magic together!
In this pattern I will tell you, how to make
this funny little one.
I’m excited to see, how they will turn out, so please,
give a credit to me as the designer of the pattern
when posting the photos of your toys and I will
show your work in my stories.

sharing it with other people are prohibited. It is for
your personal use only. The toys made according to
this pattern are your property and you can use
them at your own discretion.
We will crochet this little one in non-joining rounds
without making turning chains. You have to crochet
tightly to avoid holes between stitches. If you can’t
crochet tightly enough, then try to use a crochet
hook which is smaller size.
Stuff the toy firmly (until otherwise stated), spread
the stuffing material evenly.

The finished toy measures about 15- 16 cm (about 6

inches) in case of using the materials listed.

Abbreviations (US terminology):

sc - single crochet
inc - increase
dec - decrease
MR - magic ring
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
ch - chain
sl st - slip stitch
(...) - number in parentheses means an amount of
stitches we should get in the end of round

Let’s start?

EARS (MAKE 2)

Crochet in beige color.

4 sc in MR
Pull the ring closed, fasten off
the thread, cut, leaving a long
thread tail for sewing.

FACE DETAILS
Start making a needle sculpting. For this purpose use a
thread of beige color. Don’t pull the thread tightly. Make
sure that the eyes are located symmetrically to each
other.

6 3

Insert the needle into point 1 and pull out from point 2,
insert into point 3 and pull out from point 4. Pull the thread
and repeat these steps one more time. Pull the thread.
Make the needle sculpting for the second eye in the same
way. Insert the needle into point 1 and pull it out from
point 5, insert into point 6 and pull out from point 4. Pull
the thread and repeat these steps one more time. Pull the
thread. Fasten off the thread, cut, weave in the thread
tails inside of the piece.

Eye without a needle sculpting

Eye with a needle sculpting

Embroider the nose between rounds 15 and 16 using the

thread of beige color. For this make 4-5 horizontal
stitches with the length of 3 stitches.
Mark the location for the ears with pins. They should be
located between rounds 14 and 17, leaving 7 stitches from
the outer edge of the eye. Sew.
Embroider the eyebrows using the thread of terracotta
color. The length of one eyebrows is 3 stitches. The
eyebrow is located, leaving 2 stitches up from the eye. Be
guided with the inner edge of the eye. Embroider the
eyebrow diagonally like in the photo. Make two stitches
for each eyebrow.
Make a stitch of beige color above each eye, imitating an
eyelid.
HAIR
Crochet in terracotta color.

The beginning of rounds should be located in the middle of

the head back.
Insert the crochet hook into the first stitch of the first
round on the head. Make ch13.
From the second ch from the hook crochet 12 sc, this is
the first hair strand. Crochet dense enough. Make sure the
chain is not twisted, otherwise the hair strand won’t be
curled.
Then crochet 2 sc along the first round on the head, then
make one more hair strand (ch13, from the second ch
from the hook 12 sc), 2 sc across the head and make one
more hair strand, 2 sc across the head. This way we will
get three hair strands in the first round.
We are going to crochet the hair, skipping one round between
the hair strands (rounds 1, 3, 5, 7 on the head). Skip the second
round on the head and start crocheting the second round of
the hair across the third round on the head. In all the next
rounds we will crochet the hair strands, leaving 3 stitches on
the head.
Start the second round of the hair. In the first round we
worked 2 sc on the head, work 1 more sc and then 3 sc on the
head, one hair strand, 3 sc on the head, one hair strand. And
continue in this way till the end of the round. Then start
crocheting the third round of the hair (crochet across the fifth
round on the head) and continue repeating the same rapport.
I won’t write the amount of hair strands in every round. It’s
not so important. Crochet attentively, into every stitch on the
head, without skipping, increase if needed (work two sc into
one stitch).
Continue crocheting in rounds, until we get four rounds on
the head (including the first rounds, consisting of three
hair strands).
The thread tail should be located in the middle of the head
back. Fasten off the thread, cut, weave in the thread tail
inside of the piece.

The end of the round is on

the head back
Then we are going to crochet the
hair, making separate strands. In
the ninth round on the head mark
the stitch in the middle of the face
with a pin (blue pin in the photo).
Mark two points, leaving 6 stitches
from the middle point to the right
and to the left sides (green and
red pins in the photo). We will
crochet according to the same
pattern, skipping one round
between. Work the fifth round of
the hair in the ninth round of the
head from one pin to another one.
Hold the toy with the hair facing
up. So we will crochet in reverse
direction.
All the next rounds of the hair
should start and finish with a hair
strand. If you will get sc, not a hair
strand at the end of the round on
the head, then correct the amount
of stitches on the head (work more
or less amount of sc on the head).
In the middle of the back part go
one round lower, where we have a
“stair” and where the fourth round
of hair finishes.
Fasten off the thread, joining with the head with slip stitch.
Cut.

"”The stair” where the fourth Go one round down from thi
round finishes. point

Mark the location of the 6th round of the hair in round 11

on the head. Place pin, leaving 4 stitches from the
beginning of the previous round to the left and 4 stitches
to the right side from the end of the previous round. Be
guided not only with the previous round, but also with the
location of the eyes and the ears. Place pins
symmetrically to the face sides. Crochet the round. Join
the thread with the head with slip stitch. Cut.
Crochet the 7th round of
the hair across the
round 13 on the head
from one ear to the
other one. Join the
thread with the head
with slip stitch. Cut.

Crochet the 8th round of the hair across the round 15 on

the head. Leave 2 stitches from each ear. Work this round
in reverse direction, holding the piece upside down (see
the photo). Join the thread with the head with slip stitch.
Cut. Weave in the thread tails inside of the head. The hair
is finished.
ARMS (MAKE 2)
Start crocheting in beige color.
Don’t stuff the piece.

LEGS AND BODY

Start crocheting with the thread

of brown color.

1 round: make ch4, from the

second ch from the hook 2 sc, 3
sc into 1 stitch, continue
crocheting along the other side
of the chain: 1 sc, inc (8)

cardboard or plastic sheet.
Insert into the boot.
5 round: 4 sc, 3 dec, 4 sc (11)
Change to white thread.
6 round: into back loops only 11

3 sc, dec, 4 sc (9)
8-10 rounds (3 rounds): 9 sc
Change to blue color.
11 round: 9 inc (18)
12 round: into back loops only 18
sc
13 round: 16 sc (leave 2 stitches till
the end of the round so that the
toes on both leg are facing
forward when we join them)
Fasten off the thread, cut, weave
in the thread tail inside of the
piece.
In round 6 crochet 11 sc into free
front loops of stitches using the
thread of white color.
In round 5 crochet 11 sl st into free
front loops of stitches using the
thread of brown color.
In round 11 crochet 18 hdc into free
front loops of stitches using the
thread of blue color, hold the piece
with the feet facing up.

Crochet the second leg in the

same way till round 12. In round 13
on the second leg crochet:
18 sc + 5 sc additionally.
Don’t cut the thread, continue
crocheting the body.
Make ch3 and join it with the first
leg, working sc into the last stitch
on the first leg.
1 round: 18 sc across the first leg,
3 sc along the chain, 18 sc across
the second leg, 3 sc along the
second side of the chain (42)
2-6 rounds (5 rounds): 42 sc
Change to white color.
7 round: 42 sc
8 round: into back loops only 42 sc
9-14 rounds (6 rounds): 42 sc
15 round: (5 sc, dec)*6 (36)
16 round: 36 sc
17 round: (4 sc, dec)*6 (30)

In round 18 we will join the arms.

Make sure that the arms are
located symmetrically on the body
sides. Work shift stitches if
needed.
18 round: 6 sc, work 5 sc together with the first arm (make
sure the arm is located in the right place), 9 sc across the
body, 5 sc together with the second arm, 5 sc (30)
19 round: 6 sc, 5 sc across the rest part of the first arm,
continue crocheting across the body 9 sc, then crochet
across the second arm 5 sc, 5 sc across the body (30)
Now we are going to make a wireframe for the arms.
Cut two pieces of wire with the length of 20-22 cm.
Bend one end of wire and wrap it with adhesive tape.
Insert the bent end of wire into the arm. Twist the wire
ends together. The excess length can be cut.
Wrap with adhesive tape, bend into the body.
Continue crocheting.
20 round: (3 sc, dec)*6 (24)
21 round: (2 sc, dec)*6 (18)
Change to beige color.
22 round: into back loops
only 18 sc
23 round: 18 sc
Fasten off the thread, cut,
leaving a long thread tail for
sewing.

In round 7 crochet 42 sc into

free front loops of stitches
using the thread of white
color. Hold the piece with
the legs facing upwards.

In round 21 crochet into free

front loops of stitches using
the thread of green color: 18
sl st.
Then start making embroidery. We will use a mouline
thread of black color three times folded. Embroider in any
way convenient for you, I won’t give you any strict
recommendations, because it won’t influence the result.
Mark the points where your embroidery will be made with
pins. The embroidery should be located in the middle of
the body from one underarm till the other underarm. The
height is 4 stitches, make a stitch a bit diagonally. The
letter "Е" has a height of 4 stitches and a width of about 3
stitches, make it slightly leaning. The middle line can be
made a bit shorter than two other lines. The sign "=" has a
height and the width of 1 stitch. It should be located in the
middle of the marked area.
The letters "mc" have a height and the width of 2 stitches
each of them, the distance between them is 1 stitch.
Embroider them without leaning in the middle of the
marked area. The power "2" should be made at the right
upper corner of this area. The size is 1 stitch.
Mark the location of the head with pins. Make sure it is
located symmetrically. Sew using an invisible seam.

Our little one is finished! Let’s start a rocket.
