Students will sit on carpet while we discuss how we find a missing number using an

Students will watch a video called Missing Addends that allows then to practice along

I will create a number bond using 3 hoola hoops. We will use different items to fill the number

bond to create problems with unknown numbers. This activity will also include word problems
that we will write on the board and work through using the hula hoop number bond.

Students will pair up and one partner will hold some counter cubes in one and some in the other,

when I say “Go” the student will hold out one hand of cubes, the other student will have to figure
out how man cubes are in the other hand that makes it add up to 6
