INTRODUCTION OF PARABOLA
What exactly is a Parabola? Well, that might very well be the most potent shape our world has
ever seen. Due to its strength and durability, it is utilized in numerous designs. The parabola is
employed in countless buildings and gadgets, and it always improves what it is put to use in.

A rope forms what is known as a catenary when the two ends are held together. This curve isn't a
parabola, despite some people thinking it is. Interestingly, the curve alters so that the points of
suspension sit on a parabola rather than a catenary if weights are suspended from the rope.
Therefore, rather than forming catenaries, the suspension bridge cables hang in the shape of
parabolas.

II. CATENARY ARCH: CHURCH AND SM PHOTO PLACE

I discovered a photo of myself in the SM mall while browsing through my gallery and figured
out I could use it as another demonstration of a parabola. This occurred during our junior high
school graduation ceremony at the school. My day was made even more wonderful by this arch. I
was overjoyed to be able to save a memory of my moving up the day with a gorgeous design. I
also noticed some similarities between the design of the arch and that of the well-known
Gateway Arch in St. Louis.

When I was a little kid I've always been curious about how distinctive a church's design is
compared to all the residences I've seen.  Then I understood that churches are typically made of
arch designs, which give them an airy, peaceful feel. When I enter a church, I experience a loss
of boundaries and the sense that there is no beginning or end to the space. It gives off the
impression that it is open to everyone and that you may travel anywhere without getting lost. The
arch, in my opinion, helps a space feel more welcome. In addition to this is the enhanting sense
of sacredness provided by our god.

A parabolic arch is both incredibly difficult and very simple, according to my research. This
specific kind of parabola is known as a catenary arch. Of all the basic arch types, parabolic
arches have the highest base force but can span the widest areas. This type of arch is frequently
employed in bridge designs where a lengthy span is necessary, such as between valleys or high
elevations. Since the base of a parabolic arch produces the highest thrust, the use of a parabola is
essential to this concept.

III. HEADSET
In all honesty, I was debating whether or not to place my headphones with the other parabolic
examples. The headphone is a device like any other in our home that has a purpose; in fact,
everything that exists is purposive, no matter how humble it may seem. This served as a
fundamental need in my life. I would just place my headphones on my head, turn on the
Bluetooth, and feel so happy for being able to multitask without the concern of the device
slipping off my head when I'm having trouble listening to my online class when I need to
accomplish some household chores. This is made feasible by using a parabola on the portion of
the headgear that covers our heads.

IV. EIFFEL TOWER

I shared the same aspirations as other dreamers in wanting to view the Eiffel tower up close. In
this assignment, I intended to use a photo of the Eiffel Tower to illustrate the parabola, but I
don't have the time or resources to do so. In this assignment I just replaced the real tower
with my childhood Eiffel Tower toy, which I had had since before middle school. I can't force
myself to remove it since it somehow serves as a reminder of my roots. It makes me think about
my objectives and the kind of life I want to lead.

The Eiffel Tower would not be standing today without parabolas! The Eiffel Tower is filled with
examples of this particular conic. The four "legs" of the structure result in the creation of four
parabolas. They create a single parabola when two of those "legs" are placed side by side,
creating an upside-down "U" shape. The vertex of this particular parabola is located in the center
of the upside-down "U's" arch.

V. BANANA
No matter what the situation we always have a banana on our table. In terms of quantity and cost,
it is both useful and delicious! I had no idea that this seemingly ordinary fruit was the best
analogy for a parabola. Thus, I came to the conclusion that the utilization of the shape of a
banana helped to further describe the parabola. thought about owing our bridges in the name of
bananas. Funny, yet this fruit has significance since, due to its shape, a banana may be employed
in algebra.
