Activity 3: Search online for an application that has both a web version and a mobile
version. Compare and contrast the versions in terms of content, layout, and design.

We can use Amazon.in as an everyday example. It is available on the web and on mobile devices
(Android, iOS and mweb version). In comparison to web versions, mobile versions are scaled
and optimized for a variety of mobile devices (built for the smaller portable display and touch-
screen interface).
Mobile versions of websites can display written material, data, photos, and videos just like any
other website. Furthermore, they give access to mobile-specific capabilities like click-to-call (to
make a phone call) and location-based mapping. They have smaller fonts, fewer page elements,
and less white space than web versions.

CONTENT : Both mobile and online support text content, data, photos, and videos in terms
of their content. But due to the limited availability of screen resolution and size, they differ
from web versions in that they contain smaller fonts, fewer page elements, and less white
space.

LAYOUT: In contrast to the web version, which offers horizontal views, the layout for
mobile devices is focused on vertical views. The screenshots above make it quite evident that
the web version has a horizontal layout because desktop screens are horizontally scaled in
terms of layout and have aspect ratios like 4:3, 16:9, etc. but vertical layout views are more
prevalent on mobile devices. However, due to the auto-rotate functionality of mobile devices,
several applications allow both vertical and horizontal layouts for mobile versions.
Consequently, it is possible to construct the layout in a way that accommodates both the
horizontal and vertical aspect ratios.

DESIGN : Mobile versions are created using software tools like Android studio, Xcode, etc.
for a specific platform, such iOS (Apple iPhone) or Android (let's say, Samsung device), and
are installed through play store/App store. These are made to be able to access system
resources, like GPS (to retrieve the device's present position, as with Amazon for product
delivery), a microphone (to enable voice product search), camera functions (to scan products),
and so on. Mobile apps operate and live on the actual device. On the other hand, web versions
are made to be accessed through an internet browser and, thanks to their responsiveness,
adjust to whichever device you're viewing them on. They don't require downloading or
installation because they aren't built into any particular operating system. These were created
utilizing the hybrid and React native frameworks.
