The scope of work involves remodelling of a Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SME) shell factory in
Bulawayo. The shell factory is to be constructed as a basic structure, with the following features:
1240 sqm main factory floor space with a 4.6m haunch height on ground floor
99 sqm office space on mezzanine level
25 sqm Reception office, 47sqm boardrooms
33.5 sqm ablutions
3.6sqm safe
15.7 sqm Kitchenette
23sqm semi outdoor Dining area
The buildings superstructure is as existing and there are no structural alterations to the existing building with
most of the work being carried out in the interior. The significant design interventions are outlined as follows:
Drywall Partitioning of interior spaces to work units and offices
Retrofitting select few corrugated polycarbonate sheets as roof lights to existing cementile
corrugated sheets
Rescreening of damaged floors
Increasing capacity of existing ablution facilities
The Contractor shall supply all necessary and required materials, adequate and competent labour,
supervision, tools and, equipment, installed and consumable materials, services, testing devices, PPEs to
protect work force and each and every item of expense necessary for the carrying out of the works in
accordance with the technical drawings, technical specifications, scope of work and other conditions and
terms of contract as per the Agreement and Schedule of Conditions of Building Contract, 1990 Edition.
All items of work, part of work or work itself shown on the architectural and engineering drawings or
mentioned in the tender document and any Architect's Instruction give in writing for variations are to be
executed by the contractor. Non-appearance of any of the items either in the drawings or in the tender shall
not vitiate the purpose for which the building shall be constructed. Any extra items shall be dealt
appropriately in terms of provision of the contract.
The expected date of completion shall be calculated from the date of signing the contract,

Both separately sealed Technical and Financial Proposals and supporting documents must be sealed in an
envelope clearly marked “Remodelling of Factory for SMEs in Bulawayo” and must be placed in the tender
box located in the reception located at, ILO Office, Block 8 Arundel Office Park, Norfolk Mt Pleasant, Harare,
not later than 16:30hrs on 09/04/2021, when the invitation will be closed.. Late bids shall be rejected.
