1. In the context of Organizational change and leadership, how can we define the
problem that Mohit and Debbie find themselves in?
The problem in the given case can be divided into some specific points:
Since Mohit had previous work experience in India, his job was to apply the provided solutions
in accordance with the specifications that were stated, and he was making an excellent job of
it. Therefore, one of his goals whenever he worked on a project overseas was to expand the
breadth and depth of his technical expertise. However, at American companies, his work
needed him to have competence in leadership. Interviewing stakeholders and coming up with
potential solutions are both part of the consultant's job description in the United States. Mohit
is having difficulty dealing with this situation since he was not prepared for it, and the reality
does not match his expectations.
Whereas Debbie, in the other case, had made the assumption that the same kind of work pattern
would be followed in India as that of the United States, and that if the best performers were
being sent to the United States, then her work would get finished easily. However, Mohit did
not have any prior experience in interviewing stakeholders or proposing solutions, so she was
having a difficult time with both of these tasks.

2. What interventions can be taken by Debbie to ensure Mohit performance is not

affected, and he feels motivated to take up additional challenges in consulting?

Mohit may rest easy knowing that Debbie will not let Mohit's current performance have
an effect on his overall performance rating. In addition to this, she can provide him with
training for his new function so that he is encouraged to take on further responsibilities.
After the first three months of the year, she would be able to evaluate his rating based on
his performance.

3. What interventions can be planned by senior leaders to help Debbie to meet her
goals for the account, and for Mohit to be prepared for the changes at onsite?
Debbie's workload may be lightened if management decided to hire a select number of
outside experts to assist with the present project. Mohit might benefit from receiving further
on-the-job training so that he can comprehend more quickly and advance his knowledge.
