1. What is the problem in the case in terms of talent attrition or challenges of retaining
talent?
The issue at hand in this particular scenario may be broken down into the following categories:
➢ Because the organization has not rewarded him in accordance with his own talents, the
main character of the case, Mr. Aditya, has the impression that he has been cheated by it.
➢ He had not received the increase in salary that he had anticipated receiving based on his
performance.
➢ With this wage, he is scarcely accumulating any savings, so it was clear that his ambition
was not going to be realized in the near future. However, he still has plans to build the
house of his dreams.
➢ His wife, Neeti, also quit her work in order to assist Aditya in pursuing his ambition. Like
Aditya, Neeti was unsatisfied with the circumstances she was in and decided to aid her
husband.
➢ He is still terrified that if he quits this group and returns to India, he and his family would
be looked down upon as failures by the general population of India.

2. What is the cause of the problem?

The following are the root causes of the issue:
Because Aditya was so intent on fulfilling his dream of leading a lavish lifestyle, he challenged
himself by placing challenging objectives in front of him. He was raised by farmer parents, and
the fact that his family believed he would be able to solve all of their issues once he found a job
left him extremely exposed to the possibility that those expectations would not be satisfied.
Because he wants to work in the United States on an H1B visa, he gave up a pay increase in
India of 12% in order to qualify for the visa. However, he was unable to obtain the Visa within
that year. Even though he was granted the visa the next year, his income was not increased since
he willfully rejected the proposition for an increase.
In the United States, he was given a package that was a little bit greater than the minimum salary
in the United States, which was something that Aditya had not anticipated receiving. In India, his
compensation package was extremely respectable, but his salary did not live up to the
expectations of the standard in the United States of America. In the United States, there is no
inflation in the market, so the following year, his salary was approximately 1.5%, which is
significantly less than the Indian market, which is approximately 12%; however, Aditya did not
take into consideration that the inflation rate in India normally ranges from 8% to 10%. This
expectation shock provided him with a justification for terminating his membership in the
organization.
Neeti, his wife, was a young promising female employee working in some analytics area when
Aditya managed to convince her to abandon her job and go to the United States with him. Neeti
was likewise successful in her career. This sacrifice also triggered her when he could not get hike
as per expectation as she thought they had sacrificed a lot on achieving the little gain.
Aditya's manager is not treating him with the attention that he had shown him in the past and is
instead telling him that there are various alternatives available if he does not choose to continue.

3. What can be done to solve the problem in near future?

The Organization had come up with few ideas to avoid these problems:
✓ Increasing the remuneration package can be a solution
✓ The information of salary hike and inflation can be communicated to him earlier, so
this expectation shock can be avoided.
✓ The company can provide some joining incentive when he came to NJ
✓ If some career support can be provided from company end for Neeti, then they can
grow together as a family.

4. What should be done to avoid the problem in the future?

They will have the ability to teach their staff on the wage structure in both offshore and onshore
locations beginning the next time they meet. They might be instructed on typical interest rate
increases as well as the impact that inflation has on market conditions. They may spend some
time working on short-term projects in the United States of America so that they are taken
completely out of the Indian milieu.
