Cutting Notes: Mark and store your cutting pieces according to the block they have been assigned to, as this will make it much
easier when you start piecing. Be sure to read the entire pattern before you begin. This pattern requires knowledge in foundation

Assembling Blocks

1. Square in Square Units. Draw a diagonal line on the back of the (8) 3½” Fabric B squares. Place
one on each of two opposing corners of the 6½” Fabric D squares as shown in Diagram 1. Sew ON
the line and trim ¼” away from seam as shown in Diagram 2. Press triangles outward.

2. Repeat with two more red squares on the opposite corners (Diagram 3).

3. Sew a 3½” x 6½” Fabric H rectangle to each end as shown in Diagram 4. Make a total of (4)
Square in Square Units.

4. Star Point Units. Place a 6⅞” Fabric D square and 6⅞” Fabric C square, RST. Draw a diagonal
line on the wrong side of Fabric D. Stitch ¼” along both sides of the drawn line; cut apart along the
line and press the half-square triangle units open. Square to 6½". Make a total of (8).

5. Pair (2) Star Points with (1) 6½” Fabric A square and (1) 6½” Fabric G square. Sew together as shown to
make (4) Star Points. Square to 12½".

Quilt Center Assembly

6. Refer to the row diagrams on Page 3 to sew the units into three horizontal rows. Join rows for quilt
center.

7. Refer to the diagram below to join (1) 4½” x 18½” Fabric F rectangle with (2) 4½” x 6½” Fabric B
rectangles to create a border row. Repeat to make a second row.

8. Sew one border row to the top and one to the bottom of quilt center.

9. Join (1) 4½” x 18½” Fabric F rectangle and (2) 4½” x 10½” Fabric E rectangles, beginning and
ending with the blue rectangles. Repeat for a second row.

10. Sew these to the sides to complete the quilt center, which should measure 38” x 38” finished.

Finishing

11. With the backing fabric laying taut, place batting and then quilt top to form quilt sandwich.

12. Baste sandwich. Quilt as desired.

13. Bind with Fabric H to finish quilt.
