> Indigenous arts provide a means of cultural expression and are a vehicle for the maintenance and
transmission of culture. The visual arts are used to promote health and well-being. They improve the
lives of Indigenous women and provide self-esteem to young Indigenous people. Why it is considered
more than usual because it involves all aspects of their life and considered sacred to the certain identity
or background it has come from.
2. Get a picture of regional or local festivities in the Philippines. Identify the place, subject or title
of the festivity, month when celebrated and the significance of the celebration.

The Bangus Festival is one of the Philippines' tastiest celebrations, starting from the third of April until
the end of the month. The festival is held in the beautiful city of Dagupan in the province of Pangasinan.
Held in Dagupan City in Pangasinan, the Bangus Festival is celebrated to give thanks to the city's thriving
aquaculture for giving, especially in the bountiful bangus or milkfish harvests.
