UNITED KINGDOM IN MY HEART

UNITED KINGDOM
The United Kingdom (officially the United Kingdom of
Great Britain and Northern Ireland) is an island country
in northwestern Europe consisting of England,
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. In England, the
birthplace of Shakespeare and The Beatles, is the
capital of the state of London – the world business
and cultural center. The country is also known for the
Neolithic Stonehenge, the Roman baths in Bath and
the ancient universities in Oxford and Cambridge.
the best routes for
car travel in the UK
LETS GO
Yorkshire Dales, Buttertabs Pass, England
This route is definitely not for beginners: a
single-lane winding serpentine in a swampy
area, which is mainly driven by heavy
agricultural machinery. But at the same time it
is one of the most picturesque corners of the
UK, located in the heart of the Yorkshire
Mountains. By the way, “Buttertabs” is
translated from English as an oilcan. The pass
got its name thanks to local farmers who dug
20-meter pits there to store butter. Such an
ancient refrigerator! Centuries-old traditions
are still preserved in the Wensleydale
Creamery, be sure to stop there on the way to
try the best cheese in the Dales!
Burrowdale – Buttermere, Lake District,
England

The Lake District, or Lake District, included in the

UNESCO World Heritage List, is a paradise for
outdoor enthusiasts. Exploring this national park,
spread over almost 2,500 square kilometers, you
will see picturesque lakes, rolling hills and the most
beautiful sunsets in England. Be sure to try driving
from lake to lake and pitch a tent in Buttermere,
kayak on Lake Ullswater or climb Scafell Pike, the
highest mountain in England.
Cheddar Gorge, Somerset, England

The Cheddar Gorge annually attracts half a

million visitors who come here to visit the
Cheddar Exhibition Caves. Take a ride through

the gorge, where 500-foot almost vertical

cliffs rise above the road, and goats jump on
steep cliffs. We recommend going there early
in the morning while most tourists are still
sleeping.
Cotswolds, England
The Cotswolds are hills, medieval villages
with thatched roofs, as if descended from
postcards, beautiful castles and majestic
houses of aristocrats. You will definitely
feel like you are on the set of “Downton
Abbey". Be sure to visit Castle Combe,
Stroud, Blenheim Palace and the small
village of Burton-on-Water. There are
many festivals and events in the
Cotswolds, check the schedule when you
plan your trip.
