There are two areas where capacity planning is most commonly used in every daily life.

These
are delivery and transportation. The reason is that these two areas use capacity planning to
ensure the maximum amount of goods delivered or passengers transported whilst considering
the maximum load a vehicle can safely carry, i.e the maximum amount or load transported
without damaging the goods or the vehicle either by internal or external factors.

For example, every airline closely monitors the weight of the luggages of every single passenger
as well as any other cargo they are delivering. They practice capacity planning by assigning a
certain amount of seats available and the accepted weight of a luggage of every single
passenger. They ensure that their aircraft can carry its maximum load while considering every
factor of the plane and the environment as well. They do this every single time before they take
off and after they land, so as to maintain the health of their aircraft, and make sure that it can
still deliver its passengers to the designated location. It is extremely important because a slight
mistake in the weight inspection could mean a disastrous operation, that is why the drill the
capacity planning of their aircraft into every single worker in the plane, because as soon as they
take off they can no longer make significant changes to their load carried.
