IBM is an information technology company that manufactures and sells software,

middleware and hardware and it offers Consultancy and host services from mainframe computers

to nanotechnology (Park,2018). Microsoft is used to manufacture personal computers and

software system.

There are various aspects that can be used to compare the IBM and the Microsoft. In

terms brand ranking, Microsoft is ranked #22 while the IBM is ranked # 106 in the list of the first

100 top brands. The secondly, the employees rate the overall culture the IBM at 81% while at the

Microsoft is rated at 76%. Thirdly, the gender score is rated at 82% while the gender score at

Microsoft is rated at 76%. In IBM, the employees rate the diversity score at 81% while a

diversity score of 75% is rated at Microsoft.

In addition, the benefits and perk score in IBM is rated at 77% by the employees with two

departments that rate their experience the highest while in Microsoft, the employees rate the

benefits and perk score 84% with customer and communication support as the two departments

give a higher rate of experience (IBM,2022). Furthermore, the employees rate the IBM at 77% in

terms of the professional development score taking into account two departments whose task is

to rate them to the highest while at Microsoft, the employees rate professional development score

at 62% taking into account the communications and support as the two departments give a higher

rate of experience (IBM,2022).

A firm is classified as a disruptor when it finds an innovative way of operating the firm in

an existing sector or create a new market where in the long run, it shakes the status quo

(The,2015). There are benefits that disruptors cause to an organization. Firstly, the disruptors

have the potential to experiment. Secondly, it provides a platform for the launching of the new

features and the products regularly and quickly. Thirdly, it leads to incorporation of the customer

feedback on what will come next. Moreover, disruptors portray a culture that is appealing to the

next generation of functional, technical and talent. Therefore, the disruptive innovation leads to

modification of the firm on how the evaluation of its processes, it aids in providing better- and

high-quality services and it provides adaptive mechanism.
