The von Neumann Architecture
1. Completeness of the components of the von Neumann Architecture in the discussion.
- The von Neuman architecture is a computer architecture design that has a Control unit and an
Arithmetic logic unit these two the main function are they can store and process operations in the
computer, and the ALU is the one that allows arithmetic (add, subtract, divide, and etc.) and logic
(and or, not) and the CU are the ones who control the operation of ALU, memory and input and
output devices. Now von Neumann architecture was used as our for all CPU it is responsible for
all function because CPU consists of ALU, CU, and Registers. Registers are the ones that store
storage in the CPU. It is the one who helps to store all the data before it can process.
2. Correctness of the flow of ideas using the machine cycle.
- The flow of ideas using the machine cycle, the computer user enters a math problem that's
stored in memory. The computer fetches that instruction from memory. Then the control unit
decodes that math problem into instructions the computer understands. The ALU executes the
instructions to get the answer to the math problem. And the problem's answer is sent to and stored
in memory where it can be accessed and displayed to the user.
3. Over-all presentation and conciseness of answer.
- The overall presentation depicts the machine cycle specifically the flow of ideas on how
computers work. The computer has gone through different processes from the machine cycle of
Von Neuman architecture, transferring memory, decoding math problems to executing
instructions, and then solving it at the end. Computers can actually do things like this in a
systematic manner and without this, the computer will not function correctly and will only hold
unnecessary memories.
