1. What is history? What are the three (3) dimensions of


history?
History is the study of the past. The 3 dimensions of history are
archeological, linguistic, genetic - is that each is autonomous, each is
authentic and valid, each gives a picture of the history of the human
past, but the three have to be reconciled and brought into coherence.

2. What is positivism and how it is applied in history?


Positivism is the school of thought that emerged between the eighteenth
and nineteenth century. Positivism also entails an objective means of
arriving at a conclusion. In the discipline of history, the mantra "no
document, no history" stems from this very same truth, where historians
were required to show written primary documents in order to write a
particular historical narrative.

3. Enumerate some uses and importance of history.


Through history, we can learn how past societies, systems, ideologies,
governments, cultures and technologies were built, how they operated,
and how they have changed.
