PULSE AMPLITUDE MODULATION

AIM:
it fiber optic cable and
To obtain the PAM of the analog signal. transmit over a

e-modulate the same al the receiver end

to get back the original signal.
EQUIPMENTS:
I.PCL-O1.FCL-02
2. FGT_OI with power cable
S.Cao
4. one meicr fiber cable
S. Power supply
THEORY:
In PAM the high frequency square wave is modulated by the low froqueney signal.
The modulating signal is sampled by the pulses. The PAM signal is nothing but the high
which cach pulse is equal to that of the
frequency square wave in the amplitude of
:155miation signal at the respective sampling instant.
PROCEDURE:
L.
Give the connection as per the block diagram.
2. Keep switches SI at l6 KI-lz position on PCLO.
3. Conncct the I KHz. 2Vpp signal from FG-0l as aa constant signal to the IN post of
FAM scction on FCL-O.
4. C'onnect the output of PAM scction post OUT to post IN of analog bufer on F CL-
in 5. Connect the output of analog buffer post OUT to post TX IN.
6. Connect the fiberto the receiver.

2. Keep switches SW2 in ANALOG OUT position on FCL-O2.
.Conncct the output diode detector post OUT to post IN of PAM

RESULT:
PAM of the analog signalis obtained transmitted
and through optical fiber and
:3. idulaicd and the original signal is recovered at the receiver.
