ACTIVITY 1

According to Agnes De Mille, “Before a man can do anything, he must breathe, he must move.
Movement is the source and condition of life. To dance is to be out of yourself. Larger, more
beautiful, more powerful. This is power, its glory on earth and it is yours for the taking.

As I understand, dance can be a therapy that you can express your emotions that are
sometimes hard to express to someone. Dance is a form of art and self-expression, it helps
people to represent themselves in the form of body movements dance. Benefits people in
many ways such as healing because to some people, dancing helps them to reduce their
stress and their anxiety in life.

ACTIVITY 2.
Dance Benefits Attend any dance class of your choice. Give at least two benefits of dance
based on the following.
Physical
1.Lower risk of cardiovascular disease.
2.Develops cardiovascular and muscular endurance.
Emotional
1.Decreases depressive symptoms
2.Aids in releasing emotional and physical tension
Mental
1.Helps keep the brain sharp
2. Increases self-esteem
Social
1.Gives sense of togetherness within a group
2. Contributes to the individual's potential for self-actualization in society
Cultural
1. Promotes cultural values
2. Expands cultural interaction
