THE FOUR
 THEY LEFT FROM THE CAVE THAWR AT
NIGHT AND JOURNEYED UPTO NOON
 AT NOON THEY SAT UNDER A ROCK AND
SAW A SHEPHARD
 ASKED FOR SOME MILK AND CONTINUED
THEIUR JOURNEY.
  NARRATED HI MSELF THAT SOMEONE
INFORMED HIM OF SOME PEOPLE
PASSING BY.
 HE UNDERSTOOD THAT IT WOULD BE THE
PROPHET(SAW) AND SET OUT FROM THE
BACKDOOR OF HIS HOUDE ON HIS HORSE.
 HE WAS GREEDY OF THE REWARD THAT
QURAISH HAD KEPT ON FINDING

SURAQA BIN MALIK

BIN JOSHAM
 When he came close to the Prophet and his
companions, the Prophet was unconcerned, he kept
moving reciting the verses of the Qur’an all through.
And everytime Suraqa tried to come close, his horse
would slip on the sand, and finally he surrendered to
the Prophet. Suraqa offered them food, but they
refused his ration, but the Prophet told him not to
inform the Quraysh about their whereabouts and he
agreed, and asked to be given a letter of safe conduct
for future security. He then returned to Makkah and
told the hunters that their search will go vain since
he searched the whole area and failed to find the
fugitives.
  On the way they found a tent of Umm Ma’bad on
the outskirts of a place known as Qadid, about 130
km from Makkah. They asked her if she had
anything to offer for four weary travelers, and she
apologized since she had nothing to offer, saying
that her goats were grazing far away. The one she
had with her was unable to give enough milk for the
four travelers.
 The Prophet asked for permission to milk it, and
when he did, the milk overflowed from its udders.
He filled a large bowl with milk and first let her
drinkm after that the other travelers drank their
share of the milk. After they had finished, he milked
the goat once again and left a whole bowl of milk for
her. When Umm Ma’bad told her husband of what
happened, he said: “That was the man from the
Quraysh that I have been hearing about, if I ever
have the opportunity, I will join his followers.

TO THEIR SATISFACTION.
 ONLY 14 SAHABA HAVE REPORTED

RASOOLULLAH(SAW).


UMME MA’BAD’S
DESCRIPTION
 On the authority of Umm Ma‘bad ‘Atikah bint Khalid al-
Khuza‘iyyah (ra) who said:
 ’I saw a man of visible radiance and purity, beautiful appearance,
bright faced, with neither protruding ribs nor a small head,
handsome and fair. His eyes were deep black and large, and his
eyelashes were lush. His voice was mellow and soft. The whiteness
of his eyes was bright and his pupils were very black. His
eyebrows were beautifully arched and connected. His neck was
long, his beard densely full. When he was silent, he appeared
dignified. When he spoke, he was eminent and crowned with
magnificence. His speech was sweet, his words precise, neither too
little nor too much. Like a string of pearls flowing down gradually.
 He was the most striking and beautiful of people when seen from
afar and the fairest of them when seen up close. He was medium
height, neither unagreeably tall nor scornfully short; a branch
between two branches. Among the three he was the most radiant
in appearance, the finest of them in stature. He was surrounded by
companions. When he spoke, they listened attentively. When he
gave orders, they hastened to fulfil them. Honoured, served and
surrounded by followers. He neither frowned, nor criticised’.
 Description of Anas radi Allahu anhu
 Anas ibn Malik (RA) was the servant of the
Prophet(SAW) for ten years, and his
description is more amazing because of this
fact. Usually those under us–wives, children,
employees– are the ones who see the ‘worst’
side of our character because we do not fear
reproach from them, but Anas (RA) narrated
that he never even heard “uff” (the smallest
expression of disgust) from the Prophet (SAW)
 He said radi Allahu anhu, “I have never
touched silk or a silky garment softer than his
hands; nor have I smelt a perfume or any scent
nicer than his.” [Sahih Bukhari]
 AMR IBN AAS SAYS THAT HE SAT WITH
RASOOLULLAH (SAW) BUT WAS NOT ABLE
TO SEE HIS FACE PROPERLY.
 IT WAS DIFFICULT TO PENETRATE THE
AURA AND SPLENDOUR OF
RASOOLULLAH(SAW).
