Overall, India seems to experience steady growth in its population, and it will overtake
China over the 50-year period. On the other hand, China's population will peak in 2030 and
then begin to fall.
In 2000, there were more people living in China than in India. The number of Chinese was
1.25 billion, while India's population was about 1 billion. Between 2000 and 2010, there
has been a 0.2 billion rise in the number of Indian citizens. Over the same period, China's
population has increased by 0.1 billion to reach over 1.35 billion.

According to the graph, the population in India is expected to increase more quickly than
in China, and by 2030, both countries is forecast to have the same population of 1.45
billion. After this, China's population is likely to fall slightly to 1.4 billion in 2050, while
India's population is expected to increase and reach 1.6 billion.

The line chart illustrates how much oil was produced and consumed in China during 1982
and 2006.
Overall, it can be seen that there was an upward trend in both the production and
consumption of oil during the given period. In addition, oil consumption climbed more
slowly compared to its production over 24 years.
At the beginning of the period, the figures for both oil production and consumption were
nearly equal, at around 3 million barrels per day. After 4 years, the amount of oil produced
declined significantly by 1 million and remained unchanged until 1994. Meanwhile, that of
oil consumed witnessed a stability until 1990, after which it increased mildly to 3 million in
1994.

In the second half of the period, the figure for oil production increased slightly to 3.5 million
barrels per day. By contrast, the amount of oil consumed grew steadily by 1 million every
4 years, and finally hit rock bottom of 6 million at the end of the period.

The graph below shows the differences in wheat exports over three different areas.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make
comparisons where relevant.

Suggested answer:
The line graph compares the amount of wheat exported in three regions, namely Australia,
Canada and European countries between 1985 and 1990.
Overall, Canada was the dominant wheat exporter in the three regions for most of the
period shown. Besides, while Canada's wheat exports fluctuated and Australia's fell, the
figure from European Community rose steadily.
In 1985, Canada took the lead with nearly 20 million tonnes of wheat exports, while
European countries and Australia shipped around 17 and 15 million tonnes of wheat
respectively. One year later, Canada’s wheat exportation experienced a slight drop of 2
million tonnes, followed by a surge to 25 million tons in 1988. Meanwhile, there was a mild

decrease in the figure for Australia, whereas European wheat exports levelled off at 15
million tons by 1988.
The latter stage between 1988 and 1990 witnessed an upward trend in the amount of
wheat exported in European countries from 15 to 20 million tonnes. By contrast, the figure
for Canada plunged to under 15 million tonnes before returning to its starting point in
1990. Australian wheat exportation went down at a slow pace and finally reached around
