0200 Load Test the Battery

To load test the battery:

1) Disconnect the transformer from the circuit board to avoid reading charge voltage
from the charging circuit.

2) Check the voltage across the battery posts to ensure the battery is charged between
12.5 to 13.5 VDC.

3) If the voltage is more than 12 VDC, try to activate the opener with your transmitter or
by shorting the Cycle and COM terminals. Hold one end of the jumper wire to the
COM and brush the other end across the Cycle for 2 seconds to activate the gate.

4) The voltage should not drop more than 1 VDC. For instance, if the battery is charged
to 13 VDC, the voltage should not drop more than 12 VDC. If the voltage does drop
more than 1 VDC, then you have a dead or weak cell in the battery and it needs to be
replaced.

5) If the voltage is not more than 12 VDC, we need to put a full charge on the battery by
charging with a trickle charger at 12 VDC and 2 amps DC for about 3 to 4 hours.

6) If you cannot get the battery to charge with the trickle charger, then replace the
battery.
