FAST FOOD

Have you ever been driving down the road, and noticed a billboard for a restaurant and
thought to yourself “Wow, I have to eat there!” A problem that often occurs is the type of
atmosphere people walk into without realizing it. There are many different types of
restaurants all around the world, some considered fancy, some are considered family
restaurants, some are plain fast food restaurants, such as Mc.Donald’s, Burger King and some
others. While every restaurant has a different dress code, a different price range, different
menu styles, and offer different foods, they are all places to get food.

In today’s fast-moving world, people have less and less time to spend eating. It is probably for
this reason that junk food has become so popular nowadays. Moreover having dinner in
Mc.Donalds is one of the cheapest place where you can do that, especially for students and for
people who don’t have a high-payed job. The food sold by popular fast food chains, including
fried chicken, burgers and hot chips (fries), is usually high in saturated fats and does’n
contain enough vitamins and minerals. Furthermore it is high in calories but lucking in
nutrition.

I am not a hamburger enthusiast and I don’t like such food at all. It is more pleasantly for me
to eat a bar of chocolate instaed of burgers or hamburgers. I know that it is also a sort of junk
food. Sweets, biscuits, cookies contain too much sugar that causes tooth decay. On the other
hand, chocolate contains mild stimulants which help concentration and boost the brain’s level
of serotonin, a chemical that makes us feel good. Chocolate is also rich in iron, magnesium
and potassium. On the contrary it can interrupt sleep if eaten in the evenings.

So, if junk foods regularly replace other types of foods in the daily diet, obesity, vitamin and
mineral deficiencies, health problems can occur. In 1993, the Journal of the National Cancer
Institute repoted that saturated fat to be associated with a greater risk of cancer. Moreover,
eating fast food, you are likely to gain weight. We have to think seriously what we eat. If we
want to cut down on junk food, cut down your intake of salt, sugar, fat and refined foods. It
does not mean that we don’t have to eat these ingredience at all, only to reduce its quality.
If you were to eliminate all sugar, you would be eliminating fruits, which are a valuable
source of nutrients and soluble fiber as fruits usually contain about 60% fructose and 40%
sucrose. As we all know we have to eat more fruits and vegetables, not to mix squirrels with
carbohydrates, to eat more sea and milk products.

Nowadays there are a grate deal of different diets which help you to stabilize your eating
habits. Also twenty minutes’s exercises three times a week is all that is necessary to gain
visible benefits. I try to follow this “instuction” of healthy life. And I believe that our new
generation’s life will change ther lifestyle in a better way and they will have enough time to
cook halthy food for themselves as our health is in our hands!
