while others have very deep
ones which are different
voice qualities.
It is the loudness or
softness of a voice.

Regardless of voice
quality, however, people’s
voices always have volume
It refers to the change
in volume of our voice
depending on the situation
or on whom one is talking
to (listener/audience.)
Do not make your voice loud when talking
to only one person or a small group.

If you notice that your listeners are un-


comfortable with your loud voice, soften it.

If you see your listeners trying hard to listen


to you, make your voice louder.

If you’re talking about something serious or


confidential, do not raise your voice.

Even when tensed, irritated or angry, avoid raising


voice or shouting to solve the problem peacefully.
It refers to the pattern of
pitch to express emotion in
speech.

Sometimes, one’s tone can


convey anger, like when a
parent scolds a child. At other
times, it can be comforting, like
when a parent consoles a crying
child.
It is the speed with which
you speak.

The people we talk to


might not understand and
eventually lose interest in our
message when our speech is
either too fast or too slow.
