Name of Rasa: Śṛṅgāraḥ (शङ्

ृ गारः)

Description: Attractiveness, romance, something to do with bodily decoration.

Placement: Entrance

Duration: Whole event

Events: Hand/Face Painting

People needed: 10 + (5 for backup). People to be sourced out from Fine Arts Club and
independent students who know body painting or are inclined towards art and painting are to be
encouraged. A certificate could be awarded for the same.

Approximate budget: 500 Rs (Mehendi cones, blocks, dye, stamp, and other essentials for face
painting such as brushes and skin-safe colours.)

2. Name of the Rasa: Hāsyam (हास्यं)

Description: Laughter, mirth, comedy.

Event: Comic Stand-in.

This wouldn’t be like a normal stand-up comedy that we all have seen a countless number of
times. This would be in 3 different phases, each of which will be allotted to 3 very distinct,
comic performances.
- Silent Comedy
- Gujarati Natak
- Comic Monologue

Placement: Would depend on the number of phases we are going to eventually finalize on.

Duration: 15-20 minutes (includes silent comedy, Gujarati natak, comic monologue)

Approximate budget: 10,000 - 15,000 if we wanna invite artists from outside. Or we can call in
artists from the Theatre Club. In addition, we could call students from other Universities to
perform in the same and that would cost about 5,000 Rs.
 3. Name of the Rasa: Raudram (रौद्रं )

Description: Fury

Event(s): 3 Indian Classical Dance Performances (in-house) - 1st performance of Mahishasura

Mardini Stotram, 2nd performance of Kalinga Narthana Thillana, and 3rd of Shiva Tandav.

Placement:

Duration: 15 - 20 minutes (for all three performances)

Approximate budget: 2000 - 5000 Rs for instrumentals and music systems (To be confirmed if
these will be provided).

4. Name of the Rasa:Kāruṇyam (कारुण्यं)

Description: Compassion, mercy.

Event: Poetry by Yahya Bootwala.

Placement: To be decided

Approximate budget: To be discussed with Vidhi.

5. Name of the Rasa: Bhayānakam (भयानकं)

Description: Disgust, aversion.

Event: Haunted House

We will simulate the experience of a haunted house inside an allotted room. The idea here is to
have fear as an expression. Participants will have to go through the designed haunted house
either in groups or individually.

Placement: To be discussed and decided

Duration: To be decided

Approximate budget: 6,000 - 7,000 Rs for decorations and other essentials, such as an inbuilt
sound system, to create the experience.

6. Name of the Rasa: Veeram (वीरं )

Description: Heroism

Event: To be discussed with Col. Menon

Placement: To be decided

Duration: To be decided

7. Name of the Rasa: Adbhutam (अद्भत

ु )ं

Description: Wonder

Event: Magic show

A performing magician to be invited for this event. The idea here is to express and evoke the
emotions associated with this Rasa through this magic show.

Placement: To be run in three phases. Places not decided yet.

Duration: To be decided

Approximate budget: 7,000 - 10, 000 Rs (per show)

 8. Name of the Rasa: Śāntam rasa (शांतम)

Description: Peace or tranquility.

Event: Meditation

This is to be administered by students of Ahmedabad University who are trained in techniques of

meditation.

Placement: To be decided

Duration: To be decided

Approximate budget: Meditation mats needed for the same.

9. Name of the Rasa: Vībhatsa (वीभत्स)

Description:

Event: Projector Based Installation

The audience would go through this event right after the hand painting. The idea is to get them to
walk through a room where the projector will display certain images or videos. The audience will
be allowed to take photos.

Placement: Yet to be decided. We need a room where students can pass through and the projector
will run throughout.

Duration: Whole Event

Approximate budget: Rs 2,000 (for projector installations)
