Many people think that violent TV programmes increase the crime rate in many cities.

I do not
agree with that because of the different reasons that I will explain below.

On the one hand, it is true that children tend to imitate what they see, and they copy the
behaviour, but it is their parents’ responsibility to forbid them to watch this type of programs.
By law, those programs must have a signal which indicates the minimum age permitted for
watching them.

On the other hand, I reckon that in most of the films and violent programmes heroes are
frequently violent, but most people are aware that what we watch on TV is fiction.
Nevertheless, there are always a certain number of people that after watching TV tend to
commit crimes such as robberies, murders and so on, but those probably have mental
diseases.

In conclusion, I certainly believe that TV programmes do not increase at all the crime rate, but I
also think that parents should not allow their children to watch the violent ones.
