James Fowler is a professor of human development theorist, and Director of the

Center for Ethics in Public Policy and the Profession at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
James Fowler was born in North Carolina, United States, on October 12, 1940. Ordained in
the American Methodist Church. Fowler had a career as a religious educator.
He held teaching positions at Harvard Divinity School and Boston College in the early
1970s, and has taught at Emney University since 1977. He is an expert in religion and
psychology, and ethics and public life, and author of several brakes.
His father is a Methodist and his mother a Quaker My mother, a Quaker. adopted his
Methodist. His wife, Laarline, is Director of Kriston Education at Drew Theological Seminary
University, Madison, New Jersey
