Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited is a premier central Public Sector Undertaking (PSU)
under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). NPCIL is involved in Design, Construction,
Commissioning, Operation and Maintenance of Nuclear Power Plants invites application for the post of
Stipendiary Trainees (Scientific Assistant -B (Group-B) and Stipendiary Trainees (Technician-B (Group-C)
and Scientific Assistant-C and Technician-C to work in the areas of plant Operation, Maintenance and
Services meeting the following requirements for initial posting at Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project,
Kudankulam PO, Tirunelveli District, Tamilnadu.

TRAINEES:

CATEGORY 1 : STIPENDIARY TRAINEE (Scientific Assistant-B)

relaxable for the following categories.

a) SC/ST : Upto 05 years
b) OBC : Upto 03 years

Stipend during training: During training period a stipend of `6200/- p.m. (consolidated) will be paid in
the first year and `7200/- p.m. (consolidated) will be paid in the second year.

GRADE AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TRAINING:-

On the basis of the performance during the training the successful trainees are likely to be considered
for appointment to the post of Scientific Assistant/B and Technician/B in the Pay Band `9300-34800
with Grade Pay `4200/- and `5200-20200 with Grade Pay `2000/- plus other allowances as applicable.
However, Trainees who scored less than 60% of marks during training will not be absorbed. Absorption
of the trainees is further subject to the Companys requirements of manpower, availability of vacancies,
suitability of trainees for absorption as per the assessment of the management and approval of the
Competent Authority for absorption.

BOND:-

The selected candidates will be required to execute a bond. The bond to be submitted shall be for a
period of three times the period of training subject to a minimum of two years and a maximum of five
years to complete the training and to serve the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project and or any other

constituent units of Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. During and after training, the trainees will
be required to attend round the clock shifts.

Should had English as a subject at SSC or HSC level examination.
Four years of working experience such as experience in power
industry or electrical switch gear or Level-2 qualification in
NDT with minimum 3 techniques art of PT,RT,UT & ECT after
completing the diploma is essential.
3 Instrumentation 1 Three years Diploma/ Licentiate with not less than 60% marks
in Instrumentation recognized by the Govt. of India in the
Ministry of Education. Diploma should be of three years
duration after SSC. Should had English as a subject at SSC or
HSC level examination. Four years of working experience such
as experience in maintenance/commissioning/erection at a
power station/process industry after completing the diploma
is essential.
4 Civil 2 Three years Diploma/ Licentiate with not less than 60% marks
in Civil recognized by the Govt. of India in the Ministry of
Education. Diploma should be of three years duration after SSC.
Should had English as a subject at SSC or HSC level examination.
Four years of working experience such as experience in
construction/ maintenance of buildings /water
supply/sanitary works after completing the diploma is
essential.

Those candidates who have passed/appearing for Degree in Engineering will not be considered
and hence such candidates need not apply.

Age limit : Should be not more than 35 years as on 01.01.2011. Relaxation in upper age limit will be
allowed for SC/ST/OBC candidates as applicable under relevant rule.

experience in the relevant field after completing ITI is
essential
Inst. Mechanic 1 SSC (10 years) or HSC with not less than 60% marks in Science
and Mathematics subjects individually and 2 years ITI certificate
in Instrument Mechanic Trade. Should have had English as one
of the subjects at SSC level examination. Four years of working
experience in maintenance/ commissioning/erection at a
power station/ process industry or experience in the
workshop of a technical recognized training institute after
completing ITI is essential.

Candidates selected against this advertisement will be posted at Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project or
in any of the NPCIL units and are liable to serve in any part of India and transfer from one unit to
another, as may be required in Corporation interest.

MODE OF SELECTION: -

A written examination, objective type will be conducted and the successful candidates will be called for
Trade Test (for technician post only), Interview and Medical Examination. The final selection of the
candidates will be done on the basis of performance in the written examination, trade test and
interview. Option will be given to the candidate to answer either in Hindi or in English during written
exam and interview. A photo admit card will be sent by post to each eligible candidate indicating his roll
no, date, time and centre for written examination.

a) Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project or Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd., has no
obligation to provide employment to all the successful trainees. NPCIL reserves the rights to fill
up all the posts or alter the number of posts or even to cancel the whole process of recruitment
and also changing of examination center(s) without assigning any reasons.

b) Hostel accommodation will be provided during the training period subject to availability.

c) The employees selected for the above posts are required to work at higher elevations and / or
lonely places alone and as well as in round the clock shifts.

TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE:-

No travelling allowance will be payable for attending the written examination/interview. However
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates called for written examination from out station and those
who are not employed in Central/State Govt. /Public Sector Organization/Corporation/Local Govt.
/Panchayats will be paid to and fro Railway fare by Second class by the shortest route as per the rules on
production of ticket. However, the reimbursement will be restricted to the place in respect of balance
distance exceeding 30 km both ways subject to production of tickets.

General Conditions:
