MINI-DEVOTION

Are we practicing or doing this at all times, in all circumstances, in every ways?
Check yourselves and try to reflect with this thought!
LIVING IN GENTLENESS
Just like all the fruit of the Spirit, (Galatians 5:22) the perfect example of
gentleness is Jesus, If Jesus’ gentle Spirit lives in us, then how should we speak to
other people? Gently! No matter who we are talking to, we should use GENTLE
speech.
We must be GENTLE toward others with our WORDS and ACTIONS. Read Titus
3:2 which says, "tell them not to speak evil of anyone, but to be peaceful and
friendly, and always to show a GENTLE ATTITUDE toward everyone," Let's
speak slowly, let's speak gently, let's speak carefully.
Jesus also warns people in Matthew 12:36-37, "I tell you, on the day of judgment
people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you
will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
James 1:19-20 likewise remind us that "everyone must be quick to listen, but slow
to speak and slow to become angry. Human anger does not achieve God's righteous
purpose." Wisdom also from Proverbs 15:1 states that "A gentle answer turns
anger away. But mean words stir up anger." Peace to all!

LIVING WITH THE SPIRIT OF GOD

Why do we need to surrender our lives to the control of God's Spirit? Do the
believer's life always led by the guidance of the Holy Spirit?
Paul encourages us to "bear" the fruit of the Spirit: "love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control" (Galatians 5:22-23).
Truthfully, the person who is "Spirit-filled" and who bears the "Spirit's fruit" is the
person who belongs to Christ and who has "crucified" the flesh with its passions
and desires. Likewise what Paul has also wrote in Romans 8:9-10, "those
controlled by the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are controlled not by the
flesh, but by the Spirit, if the "Spirit of God" lives in you. And if anyone does not
have the "Spirit of Christ," he does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you,
your body is dead because of sin, yet the Spirit gives you life because of
righteousness.…" If we "live by the Spirit," as Apostle Paul continued in Galatians
5:24-25, "let us also walk by the Spirit." Realistically, to be filled by and walk in
the Spirit is to fulfill your ultimate potential of your Christian life on earth as one
of God's children. May our God be praised always, Amen.

The Challenge for people so-called Christians?

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, CLOTHE yourselves
with (Colossians 3:12)
1. COMPASSION
2. KINDNESS
3. HUMILITY,
4. GENTLENESS and
5. PATIENCE
Why do WE need to do so? Simply because in Ephesians 4:24 as Paul likewise
reminded us "to PUT on the new self, CREATED TO BE LIKE GOD in true
righteousness and holiness." We must follow the CHARACTER of God.
Remember as Christ-believers, WE have the NEWNESS of life according to 2
Corinthians 5:17 and our MIND now has been RENEWED (Romans 12:2). Of
course, WE could DO above-mentioned things by the grace of God to our personal
lives. Let's DO it as God has required it in US, that's the very REASON. Amen!
