Summary of
Experiential
Learning

I opted for Pune and Bangalore for the opportunity of learning through Experiential
Learning. I learned a lot of things about how the industry works the software and
application are used in different types of industries. We travelled to a lot of different
places and also learned the cultural values of such places. We also learned about
crossculture communication and problems non-natives must face in these cities.

But above all, it was delighted to learn so many important things about industries and
industrial tools such as Data Science, Industrial IoT and Industry 4.0, MATLAB,
Robotics, Virtual Reality Metaverse etc.

We also were encouraged to participate in ideation in which everyone presented their

idea of problems they found in Pune City, and they came up with their solutions, it was
great to learn about new ideas as an engineer.

It was however sad to miss out on getting to visit industries like we were promised and
would have loved to get that opportunity. We learned so many new things and it was a
delight to learn these through our college.

1.2.1 Industry Name – Industry 4.0 &

IoT, Ankushrao Landge Natyagruha

1.2.2 Objectives:

To learn about The Fourth Industrial Revolution, 4IR, or Industry 4.0,

conceptualize rapid change to technology, industries, and societal patterns and
processes in the 21st century due to increasing interconnectivity and smart
automation

1.2.3 Learning outcome

Industry 4.0 describes the expanding trend in manufacturing toward automation and data
exchange in technology and processes, including: "Internet of Things" (IoT) the Internet of
Things in industry (IIoT) digital and physical systems (CPS). Learned pros and cons of
using automating the industry, how it affects the employment and industrial convenience
for good or bad.

Learned about Industry IoT and 4.0, had a great hands-on experience, faced some issues in travelling
because of rain. But overall, very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing future aims for better career.

1.3.1 Industry Name – City Tour

1.3.2 Objectives:

During our course of visit in Pune regarding the Experiential Learning we got to
explore various places in the city. Traveling around provided us knowledge about the
city's famous street foods and prime locations. We were given five places to visit and
from those five choices we choose the following for the city tour visit.

1.3.3 Learning outcome

Shanivar Wada, We reached here on 10 AM and left around 12:45 PM . Shaniwar Wada a
13-storey palace of Peshwas was built by Bajirao-I, in the year 1736.It was head quarter of
the Peshwas, and it symbolizes Pune's culture. The structure was built giving security the
highest priority. The main entrance is known as 'Delhi Darwaja' & others have names like
Ganesh, Mastani, Jambhal, Khidki.

After that we went to Raja Dinkar-kelkar Museum. We reached here on 1:30 PM and till
3:30 PM. Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum. It was established in 1962 and houses the largest
one-man collection in the world; that of Dr Dinkar Kelkar. It took him almost 40 years to
collect the items, and he handed over his extensive collection to the Department of
Archaeology. Inside the museum, the Institute of Musicology and Fine Arts is also housed.
The exhibits of the museum are visually impressive and include a wooden statue of a
galloping horse from the 19th century, a Gujarat Gallery with a wooden façade that is
found in most houses of that state and a Meenakshi statue from the 18th century.

 Learned a little about data analysis and data manipulation. Learned how appliances are automated
for industrial use. Overall, a great experience.

Day – 3 Report

1.1.1 Industry Name – Augmented Reality

To learn about Augmented, Virtual and Mixed Reality and its application in different
industry. How AR can be a better application for teaching purpose and how it can be used
by commercial platforms to facilitate

1.1.3 Learning outcome

Understood how AR and VR applications are already widely a part of our day. Understood
what Metaverse is. Got new ideas about how we can implement AR in different projects
which can be profitable as well as convenient for the consumers. Learned basics of
Vuforia, a software used for AR.

First day of the Experiential learning was great. The guest lecturer was knowledgeable and was
good at presenting his ideas. He displayed the use of AR and VR practically and show us how
easy and more practical it is to use AR for teaching purposes. Overall, it was a great lecture, and
I learned a lot and looked forward to ever getting to learn from him again

1.4.2 Objectives

To get to know the Metaverse and gaming development’s profitable future. To know the
use of metaverse in different kinds of industries.

1.4.3 Learning outcome

Learnt how much robotics industry has been growing exponentially and how much this
industry helps other industry grow. Leant the use of robotic arms to increase and facilitate
workload in health industry and how robotic arms can be used for disabled people to
make their life easier.

Really interesting and enjoyable experience. The speaker was friendly and happily let us
get hands on experience of the gaming development he brought with himself. We learnt

 how a virtualization is made and how virtual reality is an integral part of the Metaverse for
overall movement.

Day – 5 Report

1.5.1 Event/Industry Name – Ideathon Challenge

1.5.2 Objectives

To identify the problems faced while visiting the city and present with solutions for those
problems and present that PPT to the respected professors.

1.5.3 Learning outcome

Learned different issues students faced during their Pune visit and heard new and unique
ideas regarding how to solve those problems. We had to propose problems as well as the
solution regarding the problems. A presentation had to be made about these issues.
Various Ideas were brought out, some were insanely good and depicted real issues faced
by some of us students while the visit. Presentation regarding this is also attached below.

Learned new things about Pune City and its issues, majority of them being transportation
issue in such big city and the cross-culture communication. Saw many great presentations

Day – 1 report

2.1.1 Industry Name – Cranes Varsity,

CDAC

2.1.2 Objectives:
To learn about ARM or Advanced RISC Machines and how to make it work using C
language.

2.1.3 Learning outcome

ARM processors are a family of central processing units (CPUs) based on a reduced
instruction set computer (RISC) architecture. ARM stands for Advanced RISC Machine.
This technology is used to program embedded processors used across any kind of device
that would need a chip to process the information.

First day of the Bangalore Experiential learning was quite tiring. Bangalore’s traffic is
unpredictable and it took me more time than expected to reach the venue. The venue was crowded
with students which was a view on its own. We were introduced to our lecturer who made it a
really good learning experience, even though the topic was something most of the students were
completely unfamiliar with, the lecturer made it easy for us to understand.

Learned about Industry IoT and 4.0, had a great hands on experience, faced some issues in travelling
because of traffic and rain. Had some issues with entering the college because security didn’t let us through.
Had to wait for around 6 hours before our session could start but easily the best experience I had in all of the
experiential leaning. Very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing future aims for better career.

Day – 3 report

2.3.1 Industry Name – Cranes

Varsity, CDAC, IoT session 1

2.3.2 Objectives:
To learn about Industrial IoT and use of the internet of things (IoT) in industrial sectors
and applications

2.3.3 Learning outcome

With a strong focus on machine-to-machine (M2M) communication, big data, and machine
learning, the IIoT enables industries and enterprises to have better efficiency and reliability
in their operations. The IIoT encompasses industrial applications, including robotics,
medical devices, and software-defined production processes.

Third day of the Bangalore Experiential learning we had to face some issues because there were
too many students attending the venue causing a chaos. Many of us had to attend the venue we
didn’t sign up for but it was still a session worth it. The lecturer was brilliant and kept our focus on
him through his teaching methodology and interactive session.

2.4.1Industry Name – Cranes Varsity, CDAC, MATLAB and Simulink

2.4.2Objectives
To get to know about the functions and usage of MATLAB and Simulink and make a computer
vision project on it.

2.4.3 Learning outcome

MATLAB toolboxes are professionally developed, rigorously tested, and fully documented. Its
apps let you see how different algorithms work with your data. Iterate until you’ve got the results
you want, then automatically generate a MATLAB program to reproduce or automate your work.

Simulink is a MATLAB-based graphical programming environment for modeling, simulating and

analyzing multidomain dynamical systems.

2.4.4 Feedback of the day – 4

Learned about MATLAB and how it uses matrix system to as its mathematical computation and
why its so favoured in the industry. Learnt how Simulink is used to simulate the working of a
model. Fascinating to learn about Computer vision hands on.

2.5.2Objectives:
To learn about Industrial IoT and use of the internet of things (IoT) in industrial sectors
and applications. Learn about aerospace engineering in India

2.5.3Learning outcome
With a strong focus on machine-to-machine (M2M) communication, big data, and machine
learning, the IIoT enables industries and enterprises to have better efficiency and reliability
in their operations. The IIoT encompasses industrial applications, including robotics,
medical devices, and software-defined production processes.
Then we went to another venue where we learnt about how aerospace industry in India
works, what’s the future plans and how can computer science students envision to be a part
of that industry

Last day of the Bangalore Experiential learning I had to take session on IoT again because of
mixing up of sessions on day 3 but it was worth it. On last day they even set up a quiz competition
and winners got great prizes.

Conclusions
The overall experience in experiential learning was very good. I gained excellent
knowledge from the companies as well as the industry experts that I visited. The
students were given a great opportunity to get expert knowledge and use it in their
life as we go ahead in our careers. This was a great experience conducted by VIT
Bhopal University, and I am glad I could get such an opportunity.
Throughout the whole course of experiential learning there were 3 major
problems encountered namely:
• Linguistic Barrier: - Language barrier faced by students from outside who
have problems communicating. natives take advantage by charging extra from
nonnatives for basic services.
• Transportation Problem: - City is choked with overnumbered vehicles not
having a proper network of routes, highways, flyovers, and underpasses
leading to time wastage.
• Sewage management: - Improper segregation of wastage and drainage of
water.
