Snow leopard’s habitat


Snow leopards are rarely found in the mountainous part of southern and central of
India. Their habitat is also in the Himalayas where the Famous Mount everest can
also be found. The snow leopard prefers a rugged and steep terrain to live in.
They are found between 3000 metre-5000 metres high or sometimes higher.
How many are left in the wild
There are about 3500-7000 left in the world.About 600-700 of the snow leopard
are in zoos around the world.However, scientists are still unsure of how many
there are left in the wild because of their shy personality.
What does a snow leopard eat
Snow leopards usually eat blue sheep(bharal)if they live in the himalayas and
other type of animals.Snow leopards are able to hunt something three times their
weight that means that an snow leopard is capable of catching a prey that weighs
3 time it’s weight.That is about 96 Kilograms!

A average life of a snow leopard is usually 21 years but the snow leopard that was
the oldest in the world was a leopard name Shynghyz a snow leopard that lives in
Tama zoo who is 25 years old.
