Name of Activity: National Catechesis Month 

Theme: “The Catechists, Walking Together as Witnesses of
the New Life in Christ”

Proponents: Ateneo Catechetical Instructions League (ACIL)

Date and Venue:

Rationale: In obedience with Christ’s command to “make disciples of

all nations… teaching them to observe all that I have
commanded you” (Mt. 28:19-20), ACIL takes on the mission
of “helping people to believe that Jesus is the Son of God so
that believing they might have life in his name, and to
educate and instruct them in this life, thus building up the
body of Christ” (CCC 4). To do this, Catechists must first be
transformed into witnesses of the new life in Christ. 

In line with this, and in participation with the efforts of the

CBCP - Episcopal Commission on Catechesis and Catholic
Education, ACIL wishes to organize a series of activities to
help the students become a witness of the new life in Christ
to others.
