CHAPTER 1

Restated Statement of the Problem:


This study aims to describe and assess the implementation the Distance learning of the
Senior High School at Tabaco City Division. Specifically, it seeks to answer the following:

1. What is the implementation of the Distance Learning (DL)along?


a. Learning modality (describe the modalities either printed or digital; for online classes,
synchronous or asynchronous)
b. Learning resources (document the resources that will be used, LAS/WHLP)
c. Monitoring (monitoring on the part of the teachers, administrators)
d. Assessment (assessment of learning on the students)

2. What are the experiences of the school administrators, teachers and students on the
implementation of the distance learning?

 Challenges encountered by the teachers including the positive experiences of


the school administrator/s, the teachers and the students.
 Challenges will be discussed along with the issues and concerns on the
implementation.
 Positive and Negative insights that can create a compendium of the best
practices to improve instructions in Math.
 To address the perceived problems. The action/contingency plan.

3. What are the insights of the school administrators, teachers and students on the
implementation of the distance learning?

4. What recommendations may be proposed to improve the implementation of the


distance learning?

 What programs/principles/strategies on the modality distance learning may be


proposed to further improve the implementation of MDL in SHS Mathematics at
Tabaco City Division?
 Get your proposal on the insights.
 Provide a detailed analysis.

Significance of the Study


 Include the parents.

Scope and Delimitation

 Clarify the scope of your proposal.


 Evaluate how the schools conduct the implementation of the Distance Learning based on the
policies of DepEd.
 Review the policies of DepEd as to the implementation of DL. See the compliance.
 With regards to the extent of the implementation, it has comparisons and indicators when fully
implemented. For example, on the printing of the materials. Focus on the implementation of DL
instead.
 Include the inquiry on guidelines on the assessment. Refer to DepEd order 12 series of 2020.
 Assess the degree or level of the implementation as far as the school continuity plan is
concerned.
 Extent of the implementation: Quantify. Describe its implementation. This is not only about
compliance but the best practices that go beyond the minimum practices.
 Conduct a home visit (for those who fail to submit their modules). Prepare a descriptive analysis.

 Focus of the study: Aspects of the implementation.


 On page 27: learning strategies and modalities b.2. MDL. C. Learning resources
 Disregard: Learning with disabilities, radio-based
 Focus: Mathematics
 Conduct of the implementation: Current year or based on the results of the study.

Theoretical Framework of the Study


 Include theories on distance learning.
 Remove the 4As.

Conceptual Framework of the Study

 DepEd order should be anchored in your framework (the adoption of the basic learning).
 Contextualized. Look for salient provisions in your study.

Definition of Terms
 Define clearly the term Modular Distance Learning in your study. Define it according to the context
of your study.
 Clearly state the focus of this study. Thus, this is not just referring to the module or the instructional
material but the whole process of the implementation including how the students can access the
materials, the monitoring and, the assessment.
 Do not use the term, for example, “being defined”.

For nine (9) schools:
18 administrators
36 teachers
100 students (50/Grade 11&12)
 Margin of error- 10%
 Stratify the learning modalities (modular, blended and online)

Instrumentation

 Print module to be used for Instruction


 Disregard the 4As.
 Technique: Stratified/Proportional/Purposive sampling
 Instruments should be validated.
Data Gathering Procedure
 Process of the implementation:
Distribution (Classify the material but support with Literature)
Accomplishment
Submission (retrieval)
 Emphasize/highlight and categorize the best practices.
 Research Design: Descriptive
 May conduct and include data on interviews.
 Classify the responses.
