Can you say that you are lucky to have been in the Philippines for its democratic principles and
system of government?why nad why not? Do you think today's generation is the luckiest?

I think I can say that we're really lucky in the Philippines not only because we're rich of natural
resources but because of so many beautiful destinations and we can go there to enjoy with
family,friends and everything. Philippines is a place where we live but when it comes to Democracy, in
the Philippine context, could hardly meet the spirit of a government “of the people, by the people and
for the people” because the rules of law and justice are manipulated and also the system has double
standards. There is no equality in terms of justice because the elite who commit crimes do not go to jail.
Only the upper class people have access to power and influence. It may need an angelic dictator to rule
the country until discipline and sense of nationalism, patriotism and cooperation are imbedded into the
hearts of Filipinos. Thought we have too much freedom we as a person we didn't know how to use it
properly without responsibility and it become abusive and worse, rather than it lead us to progress it
hinders our big opportunity. As one of Today's generation i couldn't say that we are the luckiest because
there's alot of things that need to change and develop specially in the system of the government that we
have now adays they abusing the power that we gave to them, and It is no surprise to hear news
reports of plundering of funds, i remember the most famous case that has been reported in mas media
is the misuse of the Priority Development Assistant Funds or more known as the “pork barrel” scam and
until now corruption is everywhere in government. So As a Filipino citizen we have a right to feel distrust
towards the government. Though It is crucial to understand the root cause of corruption in the
Philippine government. It hinder us to the progress. Today's generation is not lukiest Though we
experience a Democracy that we are not use property how much more for the next, next and next
generation, probably they are the one who i can called a lackiest one because for sure the way of
government in that time will be more systematic and more good rather than bad, no war just peace, no
wrath just love and no hurting just caring.
