1. Write 3 things you learned in this chapter.

I. I learned that Global Divides consists of Global North and Global South whereas
the Global North are countries in Europe and North America as well as countries
like Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea and Singapore which are
characterized by established democracy, wealth, technological advancement,
political stability, aging population, zero population growth and dominance of
world trade and politics. For me, one of the most notable grasp of America as
Global North is their currency, the dollar which nowadays became the Global
currency that can be used in multiple purposes and remittances. For the Global
South it is simply a classification to a economically disadvantage nation or states
that impacted by the contemporary capitalist globalization. We can also conclude
that the countries in Global South such as Philippines, Lebanon and Malaysia are
the developing countries and is greatly subjected into Globalization.

II. I also learned the advantage of the Global North to the Global South is because
of their climatic conditions and also the development and technological
advancement in weaponry and also improvement and invention of medicines.

III. The last thing I learned in this chapter is the Remittances played a big role in the
development and exchange of currencies and the adaptation of U.S. Dollars as a
medium of currency of different countries. Philippines also ranked fourth because
of the OFW’s that work abroad to sustain their family’s daily life residing here in
our country.
 2. Write 2 things you will apply to what you learned.

i. The first thing that I will apply to what I learned is the improvement of people’s life
by establishing a business in the future that will spread throughout the country
and remove the problems regarding the Labor Conditions. My philosophy for this
topic is make a lot of jobs and opportunities for the people who needs it the most
and also to help them have a comfortable and content life.

ii. The second thing I will apply is about the problems regarding the trade because
one of the reasons why there is a margin about a well-developed countries and
poor developed countries such as our nation is a problem about Trade. The rules
and regulations about trades in market and industrial purposes must be revised
and also improve the benefits of the employees and proper implementation of
tariff in goods and services.
