1. Introduction
This document contains all the information about problems fixed during development of ANSA from
version 19.0.2 to version 19.1.0.
NOTES:
 ANSA databases saved by ANSA v19.1.0 can be opened with v19.x.x but not with v18.x.x or
previous versions.

General When opening an ANSA database with errors and auto-fixes have been performed, a
pop up message now appears, prompting to open ANSA_CheckDB.log file. Log file
can also be accessed via Utilities> Check Database Analytics.

General The "DM Update Status" column, which displays the status of the loaded Model
Browser containers in DM, now shows a new status for those items that have
changed since they were downloaded from DM and therefore, they need to be saved
again. So, from now on, the DM column can display the following status values:
white: For items that do not exist in DM

green: For items that exist in DM and are up-to-date
orange: For items that exist in DM and have updated versions or newer timestamp
grey: For items that have some alternative in DM (e.g. a different representation, a
different variant, etc.)
magenta (new): For items that have been modified since they were downloaded from
DM and therefore, they need to be saved again in order to prevent data loss

Several improvements were made in the detection of missing and misplaced

properties of Subsystems.

DM [Upload Interface Representation]
It is now possible to add to DM the interface metadata of a subsystem that already

exists in DM, without having to save/output the subsystem file again. This is
particularly useful in _migration_ workflows, where the subsystem file already exists
and it is just copied in DM, and the interface metadata, which is necessary for "Smart
Assembly" functions, need to be "appended" at a later time.
The function is also available through scripting.

Simulation Output
Runs
Applying Output from context menu option on Simulation Run, a check for the
compatibility of the combination of the Simulation Model and the corresponding
Loadcase is now performed. In case of fail an appropriate message informs about the
compatibility error and the process is aborted in order to avoid the output of an invalid
file. For example it is not valid to combine a META FRF ASSEMBLY Loadcase,
created with Loadcase Setup Assistant, with a simulation model which has
subsystems of regular type.

DM Save in DM
During "Save in DM", if a conflict is detected with data that already exist in the data
pool, it is now possible to write a comment logging the modifications that were made
before creating a new version of the item.

Actions Copy to Model [Custom merge Options]
When copying a Part from one model to an other, a new option provides the ability to
open the Custom merge Option window. In this window, any possible ID conflict
between the selected part and the target model can be checked; solving these ID
conflicts per model entity group is now controllable.

CAD to ANSA New option is now provided that provides priority to open the attached ANSA files
instead of checking for existing Part representations in DM ("Use attached ANSA files
instead of checking in DM").

Replace The following improvements have been made regarding the update of Connections\
Connectors\ GEBs connectivity during Replace Part:
The connectivity of affected Connections\Connectors\GEBs is now updated even in

cases where properties are referred.
If there are more than one incoming\ outgoing parts\ properties, a matching is
perfomed based on geometrical similarity.
In such case, the references of outgoing parts\properties are updated only if these
are matched with an incoming part\property.
This behavior is controlled through the 'Update connectivity with tolerance' option in
Replace Parts Advanced Options or through the
'Update_Connections_Connectivity' and
'Update_Connections_Connectivity_Tolerance' options in ANSA defaults.

A new script function is now able to run automatically, when saving a part/subsystem
in the DM; this may be achieved by defining the new options via the ANSA.default
settings:

The function runs 3 times when applying Save In DM: Before, During and After the
save representation operations.
The arguments of the function are:

The "Refresh" function has been renamed to "Rebuild from Disk", in order to reflect

DM database by scanning the DM directory contents. A warning window now
appears to inform the user for the operation that will be carried out and confirmation
is requested in order to proceed.

When clicking Add/Remove all the shells from the connectivity P1, P2, ..., Pn will be
highlighted for all selected connections.
If all connections share the same connectivity, then all the affected shells will be
highlighted as blue.
If at least one connection has different connectivity, then all the affected shells will be
highlighted as cyan.
Moreover, a warning window message has been added, if part already exists,
whether to "Allow connection to connect the same (part/prop/entity) more than
once?".
Closing, a "Don't ask me again" checkbox has also been implemented, which can be
reset via Tools > Settings > Connections setting.

When a connection is realized with FE-Representation Ref.Library items, Properties

IDs now respect Settings > Decks > Create new IDs, when set to [above the current
range]. As a result, the second-created entities will properly follow the above settings.

A new mechanism for the evaluation of the status of connections has been
implemented.
According to the previous behavior, a realized connection would lose the 'Ok' status
for almost every change that occurred in the connected parts. Such changes
included, among others, the editing of any field in the entity card of a connected
property, and the mesh reconstruction in a remote to the connection area.
As a result, the loss of a connection's 'Ok' status could not be used to indicate a
problematic condition.
Now the connection status is evaluated in a more precise way. Changes in the
connected parts that do no affect the integrity of a realized connection, do not lead to
loss of the 'Ok' status.

A POINTs/ LC It is now possible to control the id, name and comment of the node marked by an
POINTs Assembly or Loadcase Point. This is achieved by activating the new A/LC-POINT
option "Copy attributes to Interface Node", which will force the Id, Name and
Comment of the A/LC-POINT to the interface node.
For the control of the node id in particular, the moment the A/LC-POINT is applied,
the node is automatically marked as FROZEN_ID = YES. If this set-up is in place but
ANSA fails to allocate the desired node id for the interface node on Apply, the A/LC-
POINT will not be applied successfully. Additionally, if while the A/LC-POINT is
successfully applied, the marked node loses its id, the A/LC-POINT will lose its ok
status and will report the id incompatibility with status "interface node incompliance".

Skin user interface has been revised to a much more intuitive and user-friendly
version.
Key-points/highlights:
a) When selecting or deselecting an edge, the resulting re-colorization of the 3 areas

would be directly visible to the user – thus no need to go back and forth until the
desired result is achieved.
b) The user can directly modify the _faces_ color – further increasing convienience in
defining the 3 areas.
c) Edges are highlighted on mouse-hovering to increase clarity during user

interaction.
